In May 2020, 34-year-old Ruby suddenly announced that he would not continue to play the superhero role after playing the female version of Batman for only one season. But at the time she didn't give an exact reason.
After the decision to resign, the show's production team eliminated Ruby's character as a whole and replaced it with a new character named Ryan Wilder, played by Javicia Leslie.
Last year, Ruby had a tough time, she underwent back surgery after a filming injury and began a long recovery. At the time, there was speculation that the injury was related to Ruby's departure from the Batman character.
However, it is only now that Ruby reveals to the public that the real reason for her resignation is because she is allergic to the costumes she wears in the show. Ruby put it bluntly on the Kyle and Jackie O show: "I did find out that I was allergic to latex, unfortunately my mask is also latex. When it touched my skin, the skin began to react. ”
