"The Bat" is an emotional thriller directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Song Kang-ho and Kim Ok-bin. The film tells the story of an originally respected priest who turns into a strange vampire due to an accidental infection with a virus and has an affair with a young woman the same age as his own daughter. The film was released in South Korea on April 30, 2009. The film critic won the Jury Prize at the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival.
Bat Plot
Father Sang-hyun (Song Kang-ho) participates in a secret organization's vaccine experiment with a sacred desire to save all living beings, however, he accidentally contracts a deadly virus while traveling to Africa. In order to carry out the experiment to the end, the doctor infused Sang-hyun, who was on the verge of death, with an unverified plasma. Sang-hyun, who miraculously comes back to life, has a strange bloodthirsty nature, and like a vampire, Sang-hyun must hide from the sun and suck human blood for a living.
In order not to kill, Sang-hyun, who only relies on ready-made plasma to sustain his life, has been carefully controlling his desires until he meets his wife Tae-joo (Kim Ok-bin) at the house of his friend Kang Woo (Shin Ha-kyun). Strong Woo is physically weak, and Jong Woo's mother (Kim Hae-sook) spoils her son too much, causing her to often vent her frustration on Tae-joo. Sanghyun, who saw what happened to Tae-joo and felt pain in his heart, fell in love with this desperate but stubborn woman at first sight.
The two lonely and fearful people soon broke through the barriers and came together. The union with Tae-joo makes Father Sang-hyun experience unprecedented pleasure, and it seems that the door of desire is opened, and Sang-hyun and Tae-joo completely betray their relatives and beliefs, and are deeply trapped until Tae-joo asks for Sang-hyun to help him kill his hateful husband's family. Sanghyun, who has always played the role of a redeemer in front of outsiders, has become more and more crazy because of the motive for killing.

Kim Ok-bin
Korean actress. He studied at the Department of Drama and Film at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. In 2004, he made his debut by starring in "The Bride of Hanoi" filmed by SBS. After that, he successively played important roles in TV series such as "Hello, God", "Flying Over the Rainbow", and "War of Money", and won the PD Award at the MBC Acting Awards for "Flying Over the Rainbow".
