The Île Saint-Louis in Paris is a beautiful island in the Seine, adjacent to the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral. Despite its small size, Île Saint-Louis has a very charming residential area, fine architecture and an important church: the Église Saint-Louis-en-l'Île.
Built in 1624 and completed in 1726, the Saint-Louis Church on the Île Saint-Louis is a Baroque Catholic church. The church is named after King Louis of France, a devout Christian who was later canonized. Located in the heart of Île Saint-Louis, the church is one of the island's most prominent landmarks.
The exterior of the church is relatively austere, but the interior is richly decorated. The main body of the church is submerged in the residential buildings, and it is difficult to find the entrance without navigation. The Île Saint-Louis church is known for its elaborate Baroque decoration. Temporary exhibitions are held from time to time to display some exquisite paintings.
