First: In the past, the textbooks were indoctrination and had all the knowledge points, but the current textbooks are heuristic, and pay more attention to the students' exploration and thinking process!

The biggest feature of the old textbooks is that they are suitable for self-study, there are complete example questions and knowledge points in the book, and the practice questions behind are also designed according to the example questions, as long as the example questions are understood, the practice questions will basically be done. However, in the opinion of experts, such a teaching material is too indoctrination, and students hardly have to think about it, and everything is summed up.

Therefore, the new textbook has been completely changed, focusing more on the inspiration of students, and under each example question are various heuristic questions, which need to be summarized and answered by students themselves. Like some area and volume formulas, the book will not tell them directly, but guide students to practice them by themselves, and then discover and summarize them by themselves. To put it bluntly, the current textbooks pay more attention to the process of students' independent exploration, which is also a very important mathematical concept in the new curriculum reform.

Looking at the current public classes, almost all of them do this, usually in the form of group discussions, allowing students to explore and think on their own. If you don't have this process, you will be judged as a failed class.

Based on the common distance problems in primary school, the previous textbooks to learn this problem are usually a unit, this unit specializes in the study of distance problems, including encounter problems, chase problems, etc., from shallow to deep, that is to say, learn this unit well, students will basically do any distance problems in the future, because almost all of them have learned.

The current textbooks are different, there are no special units in the textbooks, you may learn a little in the second grade, a little more in the third grade, a little more in the fourth grade, and you will continue to learn in the fifth or sixth grade, which may be a little more difficult. The advantage of this is that students can't learn in the lower grades, and they still have the opportunity to learn in the upper grades, but the disadvantage is that the children never seem to have learned well, and they always know little about the distance, because every time they are a little bit of water, they don't learn deeply.

The new textbook focuses on the process of students' independent exploration, which is still worth affirming, but there are a few things that need to be improved:

1. Complicate simple problems. For example, the solution of equations in the upper grades now requires that it must be solved by the properties of the equation, which is really not as simple and direct as the methods in the past. Similarly, there are estimates, many of which are inherently simple to calculate, and instead of requiring estimates, they complicate simple problems.

2. The practice questions are basically new question types, and they have almost nothing to do with the example questions. In the past, the example problems in the textbooks corresponded to the practice problems, and the students could learn them without looking at the example problems, but now the practice problems are basically new types, and the teachers have to explain them one by one, and the students do not even have the example problems to imitate.

3. Many theorems and formulas are really not summarized by students, which overestimates students' abilities. In fact, it is impossible for most students to summarize formulas and theorems through their own hands, exploration and practice, which is basically impossible.
