The World Health Assembly is imminent, and the mainland has smashed Lai Qingde's calculations, but China does not agree, and it is useless for the United States to nod

On May 27, the 77th World Health Assembly will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. Every year at this time, the other side of the strait will come out to be a clown jumping off the beam, clamoring to participate in the World Health Assembly, and then the United States will fan the flames and vigorously support the Taiwan region. This drama is like this every year.

But a few days ago, registration for this year's World Health Assembly has closed. The Taiwan authorities have not received any invitation to attend the meeting. This is not surprising, because the attitude of our mainland side is extremely tough.

The World Health Assembly is imminent, and the mainland has smashed Lai Qingde's calculations, but China does not agree, and it is useless for the United States to nod

Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that the Taiwan region does not have any reason or right to participate in the WHA without the consent of the mainland. It is directly clear that whether Taiwan can participate or not depends on the mainland. Then the mainland decided not to agree to Taiwan's participation in the World Health Assembly.

Since the mainland has spoken, Taiwan will naturally not receive the invitation letter. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) claimed that not allowing Taiwan to participate in the World Health Assembly would cause "a gap in the international epidemic prevention system." It's as if without Taiwan, the global health system is about to collapse. Of course, many Western countries support Taiwan's argument.

The United States, in particular, has unconditionally and vigorously supported it, and is eager to rely on its international influence to directly send Taiwan to the World Health Assembly. In fact, the United States began to build momentum very early. I remember that on May 1, Labor Day, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, still "working hard", issued a special statement, strongly urging the WHO to invite Taiwan to participate in this year's World Health Assembly as an observer.

Judging from the results, the so-called strong demand of the United States obviously has no effect. As long as China does not agree, it is useless for the United States to nod its head. Moreover, in my opinion, the United States did not think at all that it could send Taiwan to the World Health Assembly, but it was just a matter of shouting two words. Because as long as you shout two words, the goal of the United States has been achieved.

What purpose is the United States? On the one hand, Blinken's previous visit to China was very devastating, so he will inevitably use every opportunity to put pressure on China and create public opinion in China. On the other hand, Blinken wants to maintain a tough stance on China, gain political capital for himself and Biden's Democratic Party, and win more votes. These are the usual operations under the US election.

As for why Taiwan has such a strong obsession with participating in the WHO, is it possible that the Taiwan authorities want to contribute their own strength to world health in this way? Of course not, just this year, Lai Qingde obviously has his own calculations. To put it simply, joining the WHO is a disguised quest for independence.

Think about it, what does it mean if Taiwan can bypass the mainland and participate in the World Health Assembly? It means that we cannot control Taiwan's identity in the international community. Once Taiwan participates, the next hype and public opinion is that Taiwan's so-called "independent identity" has been "widely recognized by the international community." Therefore, this opening must not be opened.

The World Health Assembly is imminent, and the mainland has smashed Lai Qingde's calculations, but China does not agree, and it is useless for the United States to nod

If the mainland does not allow Taiwan to participate, Taiwan will not be able to participate, and this is jurisdiction in a clear sense. Except for the mainland, it is not easy for anyone to nod their heads. Of course, I can actually give Taiwan an idea. As long as the Taiwan authorities recognize the "consensus of '92," the mainland side can agree to Taiwan's participation in the meeting without saying a word, and there is absolutely no need for the United States to support it there.

After all, during the Ma Ying-jeou period, the Taiwan authorities recognized that both sides of the strait belonged to one China. At that time, cross-strait relations were also good, and Taiwan not only participated in the World Health Assembly, but also participated in large-scale international conferences such as the ASEAN Summit and the Boao Forum for Asia. Therefore, it is all on one's own to win face, and instead of following the United States to fight against the people, it is better to return to the embrace of the motherland as soon as possible, otherwise in two years, the mainland will not be talking about it.
