author:Family Doctor Newspaper

Recently, a 6-month-old baby girl suffered from a right forearm hemangioma and a melanocytic nevus of the lips, and the treatment team of Yuan Hua, director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery of Jiangxi Provincial Children's Hospital, treated the hemangioma with drugs combined with sclerosing agents and successfully removed the melanocytic nevus on the face. Currently, the baby girl has been discharged from the hospital.

Recently, Jiangxi Provincial Children's Hospital admitted a 6-month-old baby girl Longlong (pseudonym), who was born with multiple light red patches on her right arm, with obvious swelling, high skin temperature, and a large black mole on the upper right part of her lips, which seriously affected the integrity of Longlong's appearance.

"Originally, the baby had a little mole, but what is worrying is that it grows on the upper right part of the lip, and the area is large, and it can't be covered if you want to, and the right hand is also a large area of red patches, so I am worried about affecting the healthy growth of the baby in the future." Longlong's mother said anxiously.

After completing the relevant examinations, Longlong was diagnosed with a right forearm hemangioma and a melanocytic nevus of the lips.

Yuan Hua, director of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery, introduced that Longlong's right forearm hemangioma grew rapidly, and he was considered to be treated with drugs combined with sclerosing agents; Longlong's melanocytic nevus is a congenital nevus, if not removed in time, it may turn into melanoma in the later stage, and the nevus is located around the mouth, which affects the appearance of Longlong's face.

After fully assessing the risk and fully communicating with the family, Yuan Hua's treatment team formulated an individualized diagnosis and treatment plan for Longlong.

Yuan Hua's treatment team worked closely with the Department of Anesthesiology in the operating room to perform hemangioma sclerotherapy + needle biopsy + melanocytic nevus excision + flaplasty. Considering the large area of Melanocytic nevus of Longlong, if the wound is directly sutured, it may cause a traction deformity of the local lips, Yuan Hua used the flap technique to transfer the flap to cover the wound locally, so as to reduce tension and scar as much as possible, and the postoperative wound recovery is better. After oral drug treatment, Longlong's right forearm hemangioma gradually softened and regressed significantly.

At present, Longlong has been discharged from the hospital, and the wound scar can be removed through laser treatment.
