Purple-red prickly pear blossoms adorn the villages in early summer, and also illuminate the hope of the masses to increase their industrial income and get rich.
It is understood that the prickly pear pulp is rich in VC, VP, SOD, and is also rich in essential amino acids and trace vitamins for the human body. The Baishuihe community of Yonghe Town has an average altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, and has geographical and climatic conditions suitable for the growth of prickly pear. In order to better drive the masses to develop the industry, the local Aolong professional cooperative has been established, which adopts the method of "farmer + base + cooperative + company" to form a connection of interests with farmers and develop an industrial chain integrating planting, raising and marketing. Since 2019, the community has planted more than 1,300 acres of prickly pear.

Chen Yinlong is a member of the Baishuihe community, and he has been busy weeding prickly pears at the base for the past few days. Due to his meticulous and conscientious work, the base has hired him for a long time to manage and protect prickly pear. Speaking of this work, Chen Yinlong is very happy. He said: "There are about 10 people who have been working on the prickly pear for a long time, and we have to work about 90 days a year. Except for when we need to cut the grass and cut branches, we usually do farm work at home, which can increase our income by more than 10,000 yuan a year. ”
In the process of prickly pear planting, in addition to daily management, a lot of labor is required during the picking season. When the prickly pear fruit is ripe in September and October every year, there are more than 300 people who go to the base to pick every day, and the base employs more than 2,000 people a year. Today, the prickly pears of the Baishuihe community have gradually entered the fruiting period. In 2023, the base will harvest more than 20 kilograms of prickly pear, and the income will reach more than 40 yuan. Judging from this year's growth, it is expected that the output can reach more than 30 million catties, and the income will reach more than 60 yuan. Under the condition of meeting the standards for the purchase of prickly pear, the base introduces prickly pear processing enterprises to implement guaranteed purchase of prickly pear, so as to realize the division of labor and cooperation between the processing enterprises and the base, and achieve win-win cooperation, effectively guarantee the benefits of the masses, and enhance the confidence of the masses in the development of the prickly pear industry.
At present, the planting area of prickly pear in Yonghe Town has reached more than 3,200 acres. It is understood that in accordance with the industrial development ideas of "Hongyan Guanliushui Flowing Water Fish, Changling Mukong Rice Flower Fragrance, Duoding Pingshui Pepper Red, Ximahouba Fruit and Vegetable Sweetness, and Baishui Riverside Vitamin C King", 16,900 acres of tea, 4,600 acres of high-quality fruits, 6,000 acres of Chinese medicinal materials, 5,000 acres of chili peppers, and 2,500 acres of rice field fish are cultivated, leading the masses to broaden the road to prosperity, sing the song of getting rich, and promote rural revitalization to achieve practical results.
