In addition, the retail prices of vegetables, pork and eggs in Beijing ranked 31st, 27th and 20th respectively among the 36 large and medium-sized cities in the country in April, all of which were lower than the national average price level.
Wholesale vegetable prices fell seasonally
From the perspective of the operation law of vegetable prices, the vegetable production area for Beijing continued to move north to the surrounding areas of Hebei in April, the transportation, preservation and production costs were reduced, and the overall price maintained a regular downward trend.
The wholesale prices of 25 kinds of vegetables rose by 7 and decreased by 18 month-on-month, of which the prices of cabbage, tomatoes, cauliflower, and oyster mushrooms increased month-on-month; The prices of six kinds of vegetables, including leeks, cucumbers and lettuce, fell by more than 20%.
The prices of vegetable wholesale, community vegetable stores and supermarket chains were 1.35 yuan, 3.31 yuan and 3.67 yuan per catty, respectively, down 4.26%, 10.05% and 7.56% month-on-month, and down 2.88%, 4.09% and 2.8% year-on-year respectively.
The wholesale price of pork is at the median level in the past five years
Due to the positive progress made in pig production capacity, the bullish expectations of farmers have increased, and the number of pen pressing and secondary fattening behavior has increased, resulting in an increase in the price of live pigs, which has driven the wholesale price of pork to rise slightly, and is generally at the median level in the past five years.
The prices of pork wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarket were 9.2 yuan, 13.56 yuan and 15.44 yuan per catty, up 2.79%, up 0.37% and down 0.71% month-on-month, and up 6.85%, down 2.8% and down 4.46% year-on-year respectively.
Egg prices continue to fall
In April, the total number of laying hens in the main producing areas of Beijing (Liaoning, Hebei) increased significantly compared with the previous month, coupled with the decline in feed and production costs for laying hens, and the price of eggs continued to fall due to dual factors.
The prices of eggs in wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarkets were 3.49 yuan, 4.42 yuan and 4.97 yuan per catty, respectively, down 3.32%, 4.54% and 2.36% month-on-month, and down 28.34%, 19.78% and 13.41% year-on-year respectively.
The wholesale price of beef and mutton hit a new low in nearly five years
From the perspective of the domestic situation, under the influence of factors such as the growth of breeding scale, technological progress, the improvement of the development level of the industry, and the policy support of beef cattle breeding, the output of beef in mainland China has increased for 10 consecutive years, and the output of mutton has increased for 12 consecutive years;
From the perspective of international imports, data from the General Administration of Customs show that the import volume of beef and mutton from the mainland continued to increase in the first quarter, with a year-on-year increase of 21.7% and 2.2% respectively;
From the perspective of consumption, beef and mutton consumption continued to recover, but pork prices were at a low level, diverting some beef and mutton consumption demand, and under the influence of multiple factors, beef and mutton prices continued to decline.
The prices of beef wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarket were 26.76 yuan, 35.74 yuan and 40.78 yuan per catty, respectively, down 7.63%, 1.95% and 1.57% month-on-month, and down 21.89%, 6.68% and 10.61% year-on-year respectively.
The prices of mutton wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarket were 22.97 yuan, 37.56 yuan and 44.12 yuan per catty, respectively, down 1.16%, 0.82% and up 0.8% month-on-month, and down 12.56%, 5.63% and 9.66% year-on-year respectively.
The price of japonica rice was basically stable, and the price of Fuqiang flour fell slightly
The prices of japonica rice wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarket were 2.48 yuan, 3.07 yuan and 2.94 yuan per catty, respectively, flat and flat and down 1.01% month-on-month, and flat, down 3.46% and 1.01% year-on-year respectively.

The prices of "Arowana" blended oil wholesale, agricultural trade and supermarket were 60.69 yuan, 68.16 yuan and 76 yuan per barrel respectively, down 1.59%, up 0.26% and 0.14% month-on-month, and down 8.42%, 1.67% and 3.33% year-on-year respectively.
