Xiaochuanxiong, a big industry!
Pengzhou has been planting Chuanxiong since the Ming Dynasty, and the planting scale is about 60,000 mu in recent years, mainly in Aoping Town, Pengzhou City. Aoping Town has nearly 100 years of Chuanxiong planting history, in the 60s of the 20th century, it became the country's largest commercial Chuanxiong planting base, the production of Chuanxiong rhizome is large, fleshy, good shape, strong medicinal taste, ferulic acid content as high as 1.08%, far beyond the national standard level. According to the data, Pengzhou Chuanxiong is planted about 62,000 mu all year round, with an annual output of about 18,000 tons, and the sales volume accounts for about 3/4 of the total output of Chuanxiong in the country, and about 2,000 tons are exported to Southeast Asia, the European Union and other places every year.
Since May this year, the price of Chuanxiong has continued to rise, and the current unit price is about 18 yuan/kg, an increase of about 20% month-on-month. In addition, since last year, relying on the national e-commerce platform to achieve an annual sales volume of more than 500 tons of Chuanxiong online, the revision of the EU standard for Chuanxiong was completed and published in January this year, marking the development direction of the Chuanxiong industry chain to further standardization and scale.
At least more than 20 different large pharmaceutical companies have purchased Chuanxiong produced in Aoping for a long time, including Taiji Group, Hongri Pharmaceutical, Huashen Group, Yabao Pharmaceutical, Zhenbaodao, Jilin Aodong Pharmaceutical, Kangyuan Pharmaceutical and other enterprises, with a one-time purchase of less than four or five hundred tons and more than one or two thousand tons. Proprietary medicines include Chuanxiong Tea Tablets and Taiji Tongtian Oral Liquid produced by Taiji Group, and Xuebijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Injection produced by Hongri Pharmaceutical, some of which have been approved for the treatment of new coronary pneumonia. In addition, Aoping Chuanxiong has been exported to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asian countries and other countries and regions, in Southeast Asian countries, Chuanxiong is not only used as a traditional medicine, but also widely used as a health food.
In Group 6 of Fengquan Village, Aoping Town, a breeze blows, the green leaves of Chuanxiong sway with the wind, and the Chuanxiong field that cannot be seen at a glance is like a rippling wave with green waves, and the air is filled with the unique fragrance of Chinese medicinal materials. This is the Chuanxiong Commune project located in the core area of the traditional Chinese medicine-themed agricultural, commercial, cultural and tourism integration demonstration site in the Qixingquan area of Chuanxiong Park in Aoping Town.
According to the relevant person in charge, the project has a total investment of about 5 million yuan, covers an area of about 1.5 acres, and is a sandalwood-colored traditional Chinese medicine characteristic architectural style, divided into 1 Chuanxiong Commune reception hall and 1 Chuanxiong Commune exhibition hall, with a construction period from January to June 2024, with a total construction area of about 640 square meters. The project integrates the pastoral "living room" functions of the traditional Chinese medicine industry, such as science popularization, pharmaceutical exhibition and sales, leisure tourism, research and practice.
In recent years, with the help of the city-to-city development strategy of Chengde Meizi, Pengshi and Pengshi have actively planned the coordinated development of industries and jointly built the Pengshi Chuanxiong Real Estate Incubation Park. Standing at the junction of Pengshi and looking out, the medicine fields are vertical and horizontal, and the continuous Chuanxiong is green into waves, and the growth is gratifying.

In 2019, Aoping Town and Majing Town, Shifang City signed the "Pengshi Chuanxiong Modern Agricultural Park Construction Cooperation Agreement" to jointly build the Pengshi Chuanxiong Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, involving about 200,000 people in 5 towns including Aoping, Longfeng, Gexianshan, Majing, Nanquan and Shigu in Pengshi, with a planting area of about 100,000 mu and an annual output of 30,000 tons of Chuanxiong, accounting for about 70% of the country's total output and an output value of about 1 billion yuan. Nearly 60,000 acres of Chuanxiong fields are connected at the junction, with a solid industrial foundation, mountains and rivers and people's connections, and a high degree of complementarity in production and life. The park has been included in the major backbone support projects of the "Three-year Action Plan for the Development of Chengdu Meizi Urbanization and the Construction of Chengdu Metropolitan Area", and has been successfully selected as the first batch of high-quality demonstration sites in the Chengdu-De-Meizi Junction Zone, and the first batch of high-quality demonstration sites in the Chengdu-De-Meizi Junction Zone have been re-evaluated with the highest scores in the province in the past two times. After the completion of the park, the sales of Chuanxiong in Pengshi and Shishi have realized the transformation from suppressing competition to win-win, and the sales price of Chuanxiong has doubled steadily in the past three years.
02Explore the standardization of the industrial chain and start the construction of the Chuanxiong ISO international standard system
In September 2021, the "Chuanxiong ISO Standard" project was approved by the International Standards Committee, and the Provincial Standards Committee simultaneously launched the research and construction of the matching "Chuanxiong Whole Industry Chain Standard System", and Pengzhou City also launched the compilation of the first batch of 9 internal control standards. The main tasks are to build a Chuanxiong production standard system around the construction of Chuanxiong base, standardized production, production processing and other links, and to develop and upgrade key technical equipment, and complete the revision and release of Chuanxiong international standards. On March 15, 2024, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially released the international standard for Traditional Chinese Medicine - Chuanxiong. This standard is the first ISO international standard for traditional Chinese medicine developed by Sichuan, which has gained the initiative in the rules for the international trade of Chuanxiong medicinal materials, and has a positive effect on cultivating new advantages in international economic cooperation and competition of traditional Chinese medicine.
03 Accelerate the completion of industrial shortcomings, and tap new growth points for rich peasants around the three industries
In terms of industry, we will focus on exploring mechanized planting and harvesting to tap the average land income per mu. At present, the planting of Chuanxiong is dug by manual seeding, and it is estimated that the planting and harvesting cost per mu can be reduced by about 800 yuan/mu after mechanization, and the rice planting cycle is extended to further increase income. In recent years, with the support of the Provincial Bidding Committee, Xihua University, Sichuan Agricultural University and other scientific research institutions and superior units, the planting process of Chuanxiong has successfully completed the research on mechanized equipment for Chuanxiong planting and harvesting, and successfully completed the field experiment.
In terms of secondary industry, with the goal of the construction of the "352" system of Sichuan authentic medicinal materials, the Pengshi Chuanxiong Authentic Industrial Incubation Park with a total investment of about 450 million yuan was launched, and the first phase of 200 acres was launched to build the "five centers" of scientific and technological research and development, cold chain warehousing, e-commerce, mechanized primary processing, and exhibition and sales of the whole industrial chain of Chuanxiong, and about 50 acres of rough processing and cold chain projects have been built, with an investment of nearly 50 million yuan; Successfully attracted Jiangxi New Green Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to invest in the landing, with a planned total investment of 220 million yuan, the construction of traditional Chinese medicine authentic processing and warehousing, logistics, rough processing, e-commerce, scientific research and other industrial functional modules, is currently under synchronous construction and trial production, and is expected to be completed before the year.
In terms of the three industries, we will comprehensively explore the interactive development of agriculture, commerce, culture, tourism and sports, and draw a beautiful new countryside. Excavate the existing resources such as forest pan, spring water, and Chuanxiong Datian landscape, combined with the cultural background of kites, Sichuan opera, Chuanxiong, etc., to complete the construction of scenes such as Kite Health Sports Park, Lanruo Qingtianju Theme Homestay, Qihuang Yaoxiang Garden, Bayuan Time, Qixingquan Village, etc., and build 13 kilometers of spring greenway and 10 kilometers of Yaoquan Avenue for scene series; Breakthroughs have been made in the development of agricultural and sideline products of Chuanxiong officinalis, the use of Chuanxiong straw to extract the essential oil of Chuanxiong, the use of Chuanxiong leaf buds to make tea, and the making of noodles. At the same time, actively use the Chuanxiong Food Festival, Kite Festival and other festivals to carry out live broadcasts of local specialty products such as Chuanxiong tea, Chuanxiong partridge eggs, and Chuanxiong wine, seize the new industrial outlet, and further polish the brand of Aoping Chuanxiong.
