1. Weather
Fishing floats are still more demanding on the weather, because as long as the wind is strong, it is not suitable for fishing floats. In addition, if the temperature is cooler, the water layer where the grass carp is located will be deeper, because the deep water layer will not appear hypoxic. Therefore, there is a saying among the folk that the breeze on a sunny day and the grass are fished for bighead carp. From a weather point of view, it is best to choose sunny and breezy weather if you want to fish for floating. There is also a saying that grass carp is afraid of wind, in fact, the principle is that in windy weather, the water surface is in more contact with the air, the water body will not lack oxygen, and grass carp will not be active in shallow water. It has the same characteristics on rainy days, so it is not suitable for float fishing grass carp. Cloudy days can be tried, because the light is not strong on cloudy days, and the deep water layer with low air pressure tends to lack oxygen.

There are many ways to float fish grass carp, there are ways to find fish and catch fish, and there are also methods to nest and gather fish, which are suitable for different weather and time periods. Grass carp are more active in the early morning and at dusk because the water surface is windy and cool, and it is more active after showers, and even around noon on sunny days. Grass carp often jump out of the water to eat plants, or take advantage of the cool surface of the water to swim on the surface, which makes it easy to find grass carp. In the case of nest fishing, the main thing is to use grass to make a nest, cut some barnyard grass and sprinkle it on the surface of the water. If it is living water, you need to tie up the young grass with a rope, and the other section of the rope is connected to the bricks and thrown into the water to form a semi-water nest.
3. Bait
There are many baits that can be used for grass carp fishing, but it is usually not recommended to use surface bait for float fishing. Celery, water spinach, pumpkin, etc. are all good choices, and there are also wet seaweed rolled into balls and hooked, which stretch out after entering the water, and have a strong attraction to grass carp in the current. Tender grass, reed cores, pumpkin vines, etc. are also good choices. There are also fruits such as mulberries, goji berries, bananas, pineapples, etc., which are also preferred, among which mulberries and goji berries are the most recommended. Green worms, grasshoppers, mole crickets and even white worms also perform well, but insect baits are more suitable for autumn. Depending on the location of the grass carp and the area where it is infested, choose different fishing methods. If the water surface is not wide, the grass carp can be reached with a long rod, and the long-rod and short-line seven-star drift fishing rig is a good choice, and the advantage of this kind of fishing rig is that it is more suitable for fishing water skins. If there is a grass carp in the middle of the river gnawing on reed leaves, or if the water surface is thrown with young grass to make a nest, it is more suitable for this fishing method. If grass carp are active on the surface of the water in the early morning, dusk, or after rain, it is best to use the long-throw fishing method.
