May 12 this year is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance Capabilities". In order to further enhance the awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation among teachers and students, popularize and promote disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge and self-help and mutual rescue skills, and ensure the safety and healthy growth of students to the greatest extent, on May 15, the Guzhen Town Emergency Management Institute, together with the town central school, the town Youth League Committee and the fire department, carried out the 2024 annual disaster prevention and mitigation publicity and education activities in the Guzhen Town Central School, bringing a vivid safety education class to the children.
In the morning, the first thing to do was an earthquake emergency evacuation drill. As the alarm sounded, under the guidance of teachers and members of the emergency fire and rescue team, the children quickly and orderly followed the evacuation route and gathered in a team at the pre-designated location. After arriving at a safe location, the teachers quickly counted the number of students to ensure that every student was evacuated safely. In the following activities, the comrades of the fire rescue station used PPT display, video explanation and on-site simulation to vividly explain the knowledge of fire safety and emergency escape, and also demonstrated the use of fire extinguishers on the spot. Finally, the staff of the town's emergency management office introduced the knowledge of summer drowning prevention to the children in the form of fun quizzes. At the event site, the children were in high spirits, actively interacted with each other, and spoke enthusiastically, and the atmosphere was very warm.
Integrating safety education and publicity into compulsory education is an important starting point for ensuring the safety of minors. In the next step, Guzhen Town will pay more attention to the safety education of minors, strengthen the cooperation between government and school, and actively innovate activities to escort the healthy growth of teenagers.
