Writing Classics Online Exhibition No. 1334 - Liu Yuxi (Tang) "Eight of the Nine Songs of the Waves"

author:Hao Yi's life

Liu Yuxi's "Eight of the Nine Songs of the Waves and Sands" tells us that only by experiencing wind and rain can we see a rainbow.

In this poem, Liu Yuxi uses vivid metaphors to describe the hardships and setbacks of life. He tells us not to shake our faith because of the slander of others, and not to lose hope because of temporary difficulties. Just like panning for gold, only after thousands of hard work can you blow away the wild sand and see the glittering gold.

Liu Yuxi was an official in Luoyang when he was young, and he once traveled to the eastern suburbs of Luoyang City with his friends, drinking and watching flowers. But he knows that only by experiencing wind and rain can he cherish the beauty in front of him more. This poem is not only his perception of life, but also an encouragement to all of us.

Liu Yuxi used this poem to tell us that no matter how difficult it is, we must persevere, because only after experiencing wind and rain can we see the most beautiful rainbow.
