In order to further deepen the understanding of the new concept of "interdisciplinary theme learning" in the new curriculum standard, explore the implementation path and pattern of interdisciplinary learning in mathematics, and improve students' comprehensive literacy, on May 14, 2024, all mathematics teachers of the primary school affiliated to Hai'an Teacher Development Center in Jiangsu Province participated in the teaching seminar of "Research on the Practice of Interdisciplinary Theme Learning in Mathematics from the Perspective of Dialogue".

Classroom Focus on "Math+"

Teacher Zhang Yiye gave a classroom demonstration of "Year, Month, Day". The teaching of this lesson is based on the theme activity of "Encountering Years, Months and Days, Expanding the Time Circle" organized before class, focusing on the calendar cards made by the children, the stories of the years, months and days, the astronomical and geographical knowledge organized, and the small songs created by the children, guiding the students to study the "relationship between the years, months and days" and perceive the "duration".

Before the exhibition, Mr. Zhang Yiye conducted a total of four trial teaching, from the group polishing to the school-level discussion, Mr. Zhang's teaching design has experienced a transformation process from "practice classes→ practical activity classes→ interdisciplinary learning with mathematics as the main subject based on task-driven", classroom teaching from "dare not cross→ cross at will→ the subject position is targeted", and Mr. Zhang's understanding of interdisciplinary theme learning has also changed from vague to clear.

Two teachers, Bian Aihui and Wu Ronghua, gave two micro-lectures entitled "Exploring the Golden Ratio, Feeling the Beauty of Mathematics" and "How to Choose the "Theme" of Interdisciplinary Theme Learning" from the design requirements, organizational strategies and theme selection of interdisciplinary theme activities in primary school mathematics.

Famous teachers lead the way

Finally, Vice President Wang Yudong gave a keynote lecture on "The Value, Connotation and Operational Significance of Interdisciplinary Mathematics Theme Learning from the Perspective of Dialogue". President Wang led everyone to clarify the value pursuit of the theme from four aspects: learning content, learning mode, learning evaluation, and interdisciplinary teaching and research. From the interactivity, comprehensiveness, practicality, long-range and innovation, the connotation is explored; The essence of the operation is clarified from the selection of themes, the implementation of activities, the organization of activities, and the evaluation of learning.

Principal Wang hopes that all mathematics teachers will be committed to improving students' ability and quality of holistic learning and cultivating core literacy based on the concept of the new curriculum standard, with "interdisciplinary theme learning" as the carrier and "dialogue" as the perspective.
