On May 11, the final of the 23rd "Chinese Bridge" World University Student Chinese Competition in Turkey was held in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, and 17 contestants from 7 institutions of higher learning, including Okan University, Middle East University of Science and Technology, and Ankara University, participated in the competition with the theme of "One Family".
The competition is divided into two parts: keynote speech and talent show. The contestants expressed their love for Chinese culture and language through calligraphy, martial arts, dance, violin performance and other forms. After a fierce competition, Deniz Gumišrü from Okan University won the championship and will represent Turkey in the finals in China.
Wei Xiaodong, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul, said at the opening of the competition that young Turkish friends are welcome to visit China, have more contacts and exchanges with Chinese youth, jointly water the flower of friendship between the two countries, deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Turkey, and make positive contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The competition was co-sponsored by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Turkey and the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul, and organized by the Confucius Institute at Okan University.
