Jiefangyan River in Huangpi District: Busy River Management and Smooth Water in Paradise

Jiefangyan River, with a total length of 3.5 kilometers, starts from the Garden Reservoir, winds through the 4A-level scenic spot Magnolia Township, and joins the Lishui River.
It is understood that because the upstream water of the Jiefangyan River mainly comes from the water and rainwater of the Huayuan Reservoir, as well as the sewage from the upstream village bay and scenic spots, the river has been seasonally interrupted in recent years, and it is also facing domestic sewage, non-point source pollution, river siltation and other problems, which urgently need to be comprehensively treated.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Huangpi District Bureau of Wuhan Ecological Environment Bureau, at the beginning of 2024, the construction of the Jiefangyan River small watershed comprehensive treatment project will be started, and it is planned to implement 15 comprehensive renovation projects, including watershed treatment (dredging, ecological restoration, slope protection, sewage interception at the outlet), village bay sewage treatment, village bay garbage collection, village appearance level improvement, greenway, farmland consolidation and other 15 projects. At present, all projects are under construction, and strive to complete the construction by the end of this year.
The reporter saw that the Garden Reservoir in the upper reaches of the Jiefangyan River is surrounded by the main amusement projects of Magnolia Township - the air plank road, the Mulan Sleepless City, etc., with mountains and rivers, which is convenient for citizens and tourists to play and rest.
Magnolia Township Water Park
The middle reaches flow through Magnolia Township. Most of the places are underground rivers, and a children's water park is built on them. The water park "May Day" has just been completed, and the water can flow into the underground river through pipes during light rain, and can be used for flood control during flood control. In addition, the water of the water park has been recycled, and the water has been purified before entering the river, achieving a win-win situation for business and environmental protection.
The downstream joins the Lishui River, and the greenway around the mountain and the waterfront greenway are also under construction. According to the person in charge of the project design, along the greenway, 2 village markets will be set up to provide villagers and tourists with places for commodity sales, exchange and entertainment, and create 8 landscapes along the mountain and 9 landscapes along the waterfront, including Camellia oleifera viewing platform, four seasons flower garden, etc.
At present, Huangpi District is relying on the successful application of the "Five Good and Two Suitable" Hemei Rural Pilot Pilot Project to promote the comprehensive management of small watersheds and help Dutang Village and other villages along the Jiefangyan River to break a "new agricultural tourism" road. The villages along the route will also build projects such as Daoxiang B&B in the secluded mountains, Shouwang Pastoral Future Farm, and Mingxiang Workshop, so as to strengthen the characteristic industries of "rice fragrance, flower fragrance, fruit fragrance, and tea fragrance", and drive the income of farmers and the collective economy of the village to continue to rise.
