As far as landscape painting is concerned, I once had extraordinary ambitions, the so-called: "Xi Xian, Xi Sheng, Xi Ji Ji; No self, no one, no master and slave. For more than 50 years, in the face of the great rivers and mountains, from "the heart and the soul are not ambiguous, and the great and wonderful understanding is true", to "feel all the heaven and earth, create what the world does not have", and then explore the "endless observation" of "landscape painting and philosophy", all the way to the arduous search, dare not slack off. But, after all, I am an ordinary man, in the square inch of landscape painting, I can't stand at thirty, forty and confused, fifty and a half know the destiny of heaven, sixty ears dare not speak well, and seventy battles and battles do not exceed the rules. After more than half a century of artistic exploration, I realized that art is endless, and that although I have cultivated a lot of hard work and opened up a very special new world of my own, I will be complacent, and my artistic life will inevitably die, and we must continue to pursue new changes. There are too many people who like Jia Youfu's series of ink paintings under the name of "Poetry of the Bright Moon". They are sideways in Jia Youfu's monumental system, serene and charming, like the "quiet girl" described in the Book of Songs.
In these sketches, they are intended to express the profound cultivation of Chinese culture, and to express the mind, temperament and habits of an old-fashioned Chinese literati. In particular, it is necessary to draw a fascinating cool realm with a casual and hasty brush, and the magical composition that wants to fall outside the sky can only be produced with concise and loose fine brushwork, extremely refined and simple schema, expressing a certain harmonious and unhindered wisdom that Jia Youfu has achieved by being impregnated by tradition and modernity. He uses the magic combination of dots, lines, surfaces, black, white, and gray, these six elements of ink form, to bring us into and beyond the ancients. Bringing in the tradition and transcending the tradition. Although these works are sketches, they are particularly concerned about the quality and interest of dots and lines, but they are completely clean in the structural relationship between black, white and gray, and they have drawn the big mind of "Hugging the Moon and Dining Clouds", the great realm of "Qiankun is the Moon and the Moon is the Canopy", and the grandeur of "Alone with a River and the Wind and Moon". The sketch is not small, the sketch has a big skill, this big skill, is to melt the traditional pen and ink into the form of modern art consciously, use the Daguan system to lead the small interest, the tension of the point, line, surface to the maximum, the relationship between black, white and gray to make the strongest - and these, all of which come from Jia Youfu's majestic landscape art experiments, is really "to govern a big country if to cook a small fresh", or conversely, "to cook a small fresh as to govern a big country".
I think this is the most charming and brilliant creation of brush and ink in Jia Youfu's landscape, which is an active exploration of the capacity of Chinese landscape painting, the most Chinese culture and Chinese poetics, and the most modern cosmic consciousness. On several of his works with the theme of the bright moon, he has inscribed such sentences: "When there is a moon in the sky, there are poems, paintings, and articles for the ages." "Sincerely, Siyan!
As early as when he was a student, Jia Youfu copied and studied the traditional masters of Chinese landscape painting, and preferred the "dark" landscapes of Gong Banqian, Huang Binhong, and Li Keran, and was very familiar with the "muddy" of landscape painting brushes and inks and the "aura" in the darkness. At the same time, he spoke highly of Dong Qichang's brushwork of "overcoming rigidity with softness, introverted spirit, clear and clear in the realm of ink, clear and ethereal, and appreciating people with treasure light, like looking in a mirror", and he even believed: "Dong Qichang practiced meditation, looked at the mountains and forests, and wrote the clear realm with clear ink, which achieved the eternity of his landscape painting in the history of painting."
Jia Youfu's "Poem of the Bright Moon" in the 21st century depicts the daily and ordinary things of the Taihang mountain people, such as the sunrise and the sunrise, the daily life of herding cattle, herding sheep, and chopping firewood. The literati search for poems and make poems under the moon can be described as "Xiaoya", and the mountain people work and live under the moon, which can be described as "Daya".
