On the evening of May 14, the fourth event of the 2024 Folk Songs on the Road Singing Conference was held at the Guicheng Xinlefu Dawan District Creation and Performance Center. The Guangdong hip-hop representative group "Lingshan Village Gang" came to Guicheng again, bringing a number of popular works such as "And Home Arrives in the Summer", "Today's Baa", "Nansha District Welcomes You", "Yamaha" and other popular works, and carried out in-depth exchanges and interactions with the audience, staging a close dialogue between Guangdong local hip-hop and Foshan music fans.

The Lingshan Village Gang is a Cantonese music group from Nansha, Guangzhou, whose members are all local villagers who grew up in Lingshan Village. Out of their love for their hometown and hip-hop music, they formed this unique rap group in 2019, integrating the local dialect of Nansha and local feelings full of regional characteristics into their music creation, becoming a disseminator of local culture. So far, the group has released and participated in more than 100 works, with a total of 2600W+ views on major music platforms and 300W+ views on major video platforms.

On the evening of May 14, the fourth event of the 2024 Folk Songs on the Road Singing Conference was sung by the Lingshan Village Gang.

This event is also the fourth after the official announcement of the resumption of the Folk Songs on the Road Concert in 2024. It is not only a music event in Guicheng, but also a bridge of emotions, allowing the audience to listen to the vivid stories told by the creators up close and feel the temperature and power behind the music.

"'Folk Songs on the Road' is an innovative way of performing that is very comfortable, free, and closer, which can shorten the distance between us and the audience, so that everyone can feel our musical style and what we want to express more directly. At the same time, it is also hoped that in this way, more in-depth exchanges between different cities in the Greater Bay Area can be promoted. Last year, Guicheng released the Guicheng Youth New Performing Arts Development Plan, accelerated the high-quality development of young new performing arts, and contributed cultural strength to Guicheng's anchoring high-quality development into 100 billion towns and streets. The "Folk Songs on the Road" relaunched in the spring of 2024 is a community interactive activity IP under the 13th Moon Culture of the New Yuefu Greater Bay Area Creation and Performance Center. This year's performance lineup includes a number of excellent bands with diverse styles in the Guangzhou-Foshan area, including the Lingshan Village Gang, the champion of the first season of the Qiandeng Lake Music Festival, the champion of the first season of the Qiandeng Lake Music Festival, Wei Ran, the lead singer of the Japanese Chinese band Tar Content 7, and the champion of the second season of the bandstorm/excellent band of the Cantonese original camp. Next, there will be a domestic indie rock band Lost Road, Green Bus that combines pop rock with back-rock, Shi Miaoli vacuum cleaner with one-person loop, and Shi Yifen Band, the representative of Guangzhou Rhythm Funk, will appear one after another.

The Folk Songs on the Road Singing Symposium is a brand event that will last until the end of the year.

In 2023, Guicheng will use the center as a platform to hold a Cantonese original camp, and through competition selection and creative rehearsals, it will deeply explore and support a group of outstanding singer-songwriters who use Cantonese as their creative language.

The musicians selected for the creative camp received training from top musicians, songwriters and producers in China, and derived the first Cantonese original freshman compilation album "Dance of Guicheng".

In the future, Guicheng will continue to meet the preferences of young people as the main battlefield of new performing arts, build a number of small and beautiful, small and fine new performing arts spaces, and continue to create new performing arts ecology, new cultural consumption, new art and cultural life, and new city business cards. At the same time, Guicheng will be based in the South China Sea, facing Guangzhou-Foshan, and radiating the Bay Area, to build a Guangzhou-Foshan youth new performing arts consumption gathering area and a new performing arts experience destination for young people in the Bay Area, so that the new youth performing arts will become a unique urban mark of Guicheng, and empower the construction of a modern and dynamic new South China Sea with high-quality cultural development.
