Don't be trapped by the situation! More than 30,000 Thais went to Israel to work!

Recently, according to Thai media news, the Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor of Thailand revealed that despite the turmoil in Israel, more than 30,000 Thai workers still expressed their willingness to work in the country. Earlier it was reported that Thailand was given a quota of more than 5,000 jobs in Israel's agricultural sector in the second half of this year.

The head of the Employment Department, Somchai said, Israel remains a popular country for Thai workers to find jobs, as evidenced by the fact that more than 30,186 people have expressed a desire to stay and work there. In any case, the Employment Department lifted the moratorium on the dispatch of workers to Israel after consultations with the relevant authorities and assurances from the Israeli Embassy regarding the safety measures taken by Thai workers.

He stressed that the Israeli embassy has pledged that only Thai workers will be assigned to work in safe areas, including emergency response plans and evacuation procedures in case of any dangerous situations. It is understood that data from the Ministry of Labor of Thailand in September 2023 shows that Israel is one of the countries with the largest number of workers in Thailand, with a minimum average wage of 1,938.16 baht/day.

According to a February report by Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of 29,900 Thai laborers worked in Israel before the Israeli-Hamas conflict. After the conflict, 9,697 people returned to Thailand, while the rest voluntarily chose to remain in the country. A total of 39 Thais were killed, 23 were rescued, and eight remain unaccounted for.
