On May 11, the Automotive Technology Research and Test Center of China Insurance Research Institute released a new batch of test results of China Insurance Automobile Safety Index (C-IASI). FAW-Volkswagen's all-electric flagship sedan, the ID.7 VIZZION, received the highest rating (G) in the three safety test indices of occupant, pedestrian and vehicle assistance for its excellent safety design, and the ID.7 VIZZION was also the only model in this test to receive a good rating of (A) in the crash resistance and maintenance economy index.
Excellent Protection: Excellent occupant safety test in the car
The Occupant Safety Index is an important indicator to measure the ability of a vehicle to protect its occupants in a collision. In this evaluation system, the ID.7 Vizzion received the highest (G) rating with a perfect score of 0 defects for its outstanding performance and excellent design, with four categories: 25% frontal offset collision on the driver's side, side impact, roof strength, and seat/headrest.
1. The driver's 25% frontal offset crash test received an excellent (G) rating
In the test, the ID.7 VIZZION's passenger compartment structure is complete, with little intrusion, and the front side airbags fully play a protective role, providing comprehensive and sufficient protection for the living space of the occupants.
The ID.7 VIZZION features a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid body, of which more than 32% is hot-stamping, more than 81% is high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel, and the longitudinal member reinforcements, four doors and rear lid are made of aluminum alloy, and the torsional rigidity of the body exceeds 46,100Nm/deg.

After the collision, the B-pillar and door structure are complete, and the distance between the B-pillar and the center line of the driver's seat is 250mm, which is much higher than the excellent standard of 125mm.
C-IASI requires that the B-pillar cannot be broken, but FAW-Volkswagen insists on building a safety anti-collision barrier with high standards based on the principle that it cannot crack. The ID.7 VIZZION uses 2000MPa ultra-high-strength hot-stamped steel floor beams, and hot-stamped steel is used in A/B pillars, sill impact beams, etc., to resist impact and crush on both sides. At the same time, the threshold is made of double-layer hot-stamping steel and honeycomb aluminum reinforced beams, which can carry an impact force equivalent to about 110 tons, and jointly protect the ultimate safety of the side.
3. The roof strength test received an excellent evaluation of (G).
The ID.7 VIZZION's roof and A-pillar structure can withstand a load of 101,642 N, which is 4.91 times more than the weight of the body. When the vehicle is rolled, it can effectively prevent the deformation of the passenger compartment, ensure the living space in the car, and protect the members in the car to the greatest extent.
4. The seat/headrest test received an excellent evaluation of (G).
The performance of the seat is excellent, and it is rated excellent in both static and dynamic tests. The ID.7 VIZZION has adopted a targeted design in terms of seat frame and headrest structure, and the seat backrest and headrest shape surface conform to the curvature of the human spine as much as possible, which has been verified by repeated trials and verifications to ensure that neck injuries are reduced in accidents such as rear-end collisions and the safety of occupants is protected to the greatest extent.

The Pedestrian Safety Index test is an important test to evaluate the ability of a car to protect pedestrians while driving on the road.
