In May 1930, when the Red Fourth Army went south to search for Wu, Comrade Mao Zedong conducted a survey of Wuwu for more than 20 days, and wrote the glorious work "Against Fundamentalism". The creation of the drama "Knock" lasted nearly a year, bringing together domestic first-class experts, scholars and artists to participate in the creation and rehearsal, and fully mobilizing the local resources of Shenzhen and Ganzhou. Shenzhen Longgang Pioneer Troupe, Gannan Art Creation Research Institute, Xunwu County Tea Picking Song and Dance Performing Arts Co., Ltd. and other cultural and artistic teams from Shenzhen, Ganzhou and Xunwu all participated in the creation and performance, laying a solid foundation for the play to better take root in the local area and realize "localization".
The play is based on the historical fact that Comrade Mao Zedong was carrying out the investigation of the search for Wu, and from the perspective of Comrade Mao Zedong's observation of the search for Wu, it focuses on the political wisdom and outstanding insight of a generation of great men.
In the play, the representative "door" is established as the overall image of the performance, and the "doors" of different sizes in the performance symbolize the door of the workers and peasants knocked on by Comrade Mao Zedong when he carried out the investigation to find Wu, and it is also the door of the people who have suffered in history. First, in terms of stage design, it more realistically restores the local customs and customs of Xunwu, making the audience feel as if they were in the Xunwu of the year. Second, in terms of music creation, most of the repertoire elements come from local folk songs in Jiangxi, through re-writing and arrangement, and integrating and using a large number of symphonies related to the practice and struggle of the Soviet revolution, forming another new highlight in the creation of original drama stage art.
