From the analysis of the situation at that time, Li Zicheng was destined to be unable to defeat Houjin in the end. Rather than such a meaningless death, it is better to take refuge in a reliable person to survive, only by living, can everything talk about hope.
Later, Wu Sangui took refuge in Houjin, and Li Zicheng was very angry when he learned about it. So before he left Beijing, he killed all of Wu Sangui's family.
However, Chen Yuanyuan was not killed, and later Wu Sangui successfully found her. Sure enough! In the end, only heroes and beauties remained.
So if Wu Sangui had taken refuge in Li Zicheng, would they be able to defeat Houjin in the end? The answer, of course, is impossible.
