So far, with the close cooperation of the Qianjiang police in Chongqing and the police in Hunan, the family that has been separated for 16 years has finally been reunited. This is also the fifth separated family that the Qianjiang District Public Security Bureau has helped realize their dream of reunion since 2021.
In January 2008, while Cai and his fellow villagers were working in Changsha, Hunan, they went missing by mistake when they moved out of the rental house. Cai's parents immediately reported the case to the public security organs, but for many years, there has been no progress in the search work.
In 2022, Cai's sister Xiao Rong saw a video on the Internet of the Qianjiang police carrying out a "reunion operation" and successfully helping the lost child find his relatives. With the mentality of giving it a try, she dialed 110 to call the police, and then the Qianjiang District Public Security Bureau collected blood samples from Cai's father Cai Moumou and mother Pang Moumou in time.

"After learning more about Cai's disappearance, we contacted the Changsha police as soon as possible. Considering that Cai is deaf and mute, we set our sights on various aid stations in Changsha and the surrounding areas. Chen Yao, a police officer who handled the case, said.
In August 2023, the police in Changsha, Hunan Province, contacted the Qianjiang police in Chongqing, saying that a woman in a welfare home in Changsha City was more in line with Cai's characteristics. However, unfortunately, after investigation and comparison, it was found that the woman's age and certain physical characteristics did not match the reality. In order to find Cai as soon as possible, in mid-August, the Qianjiang police collected blood samples from Cai's parents again and sent them for testing and comparison as soon as possible.
Soon, the good news came, after DNA data comparison, the blood samples of Cai Moumou and his wife were successfully matched with a woman named Luo Jian in Changsha No. 3 Welfare Institute. On April 19, 2024, after review by the Ministry of Public Security, it was determined that Luo Jian, Cai and Pang were in line with the biological genetic relationship.
"In mid-April, you showed me a photo of her (Cai), and I knew at a glance that she was my daughter! The child is still the same as before, smiling innocently, and the thought of seeing the baby soon, I am so excited that I can't sleep these days. Mother Pang said to the police.
On April 28, the second daughter Xiaorong rushed from Changde, Hunan to Changsha No. 3 Welfare Institute and successfully met her sister Cai.

Subsequently, the sisters had a video call with their parents, looking at the daughter who kept waving in the video, Cai Moumou and his wife cried with joy and excitement.
On May 1, Cai's family, relatives and friends waited early in the courtyard dam of Cai's hometown. At 11 o'clock in the morning, her sister Xiaorong accompanied Cai back to their hometown in Heixi Town, Qianjiang District. Seeing her daughter, her mother Pang choked up several times, and Cai also burst into tears, and the family affection that blood was thicker than water made their hands clasped tightly together.

Pang said: "Our family was able to reunite, thanks to the help of the police, every time I went to understand the progress in the past two years, they were very patient." The child has been found, our hearts have been knotted, and we can finally sleep peacefully. ”
