By the end of 2023, there are 200 ordinary national highways in the mainland, with a total mileage of more than 265,000 kilometers, and the dense network of ordinary national highways will closely connect various cities in the mainland, just like the capillaries of the human body, ensuring the efficient, fast and convenient circulation of people and materials between various cities in the mainland, and playing an irreplaceable and important role in promoting the development of the mainland's economy.
The two road network systems of ordinary national roads and national highways constitute the national roads of the mainland, both of which start with the letter G. Ordinary national highways are generally numbered in the form of G+3 Arabic numerals (i.e. GXXX) and are pronounced as XXX national highways (e.g., G318 is pronounced as 318 national highways).

This series will focus on China's ordinary national roads, and introduce them in detail from three aspects: basic information, provinces and cities passed, and value significance. At present, the mainland plans to build a total of 200 ordinary national highways. These 200 ordinary national roads are divided into four categories: 12 capital radiation lines, 47 north-south longitudinal lines, 60 east-west horizontal lines, and 81 liaison lines.

Basic Information
Linfen - Yan'an ordinary national highway, referred to as Linyan line, ordinary national road network number G520. The Linyan Line is the 20th of the 81 connecting lines, starting from the G309 intersection of Yaodu District, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, and ending at the G210 intersection of Baota District, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province.

National Highway 520 is 250 kilometers long, and the Linyan line runs through 2 provinces such as Shanxi and Shaanxi, passing through 2 administrative regions above the prefecture level, namely Linfen ~ Yan'an.

Value significance
The starting point of the Linyan Line is in Yaodu District, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, and the end point is in Baota District, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. The ordinary national highway is an important national passage connecting Shanxi Province and Shaanxi Province, constructing the transportation artery of important cities in the east-west direction (mainly including Linfen City, Yan'an City, etc.) in the central Qin-Jin region, and building a east-west connection bridge in the central Qin-Jin region. At the same time, Linfen can not only communicate with Yan'an through the Linyan line, but also through other ordinary national roads in the Yan'an area, and travel to the rest of the country at high speed and effectively, which plays a vital role in strengthening the communication between Linfen and Yan'an and even the rest of the country.
