Cheng Xing: I'm looking forward to unlocking more high-level tournament titles

author:Badminton Magazine

Since last year, Cheng Xing has been involved in the World Tour and partnered with Chen Fanghui to make a breakthrough at the Shenzhen Masters at the end of the year. This year, he played with his old partner Zhang Chi in the youth team and won the 300 championship for the first time. Therefore, Cheng Xing is gradually familiar to everyone. Cheng Xing is a very characteristic player, who is said by many people to be like Zhang Yishan, with a particularly outgoing personality and a lot of words.

Cheng Xing is like Liu Xing

Does anyone say that you look like Zhang Yishan? (Ah Lian)

Yes! When I was a child, some people said that I looked like Liu Xing in "Family with Children", and jokingly asked me to apply for a stand-in. Is this the legendary "Cheng Xing is like Liu Xing"?

Do you usually like to listen to music and listen to songs? What songs to listen to? (Qinghai Grassland - National Feather Olympics cheers)

I love listening to songs so much that I carry headphones with me and listen to any song. Xue Zhiqian's song should be the most listened to. I used to play with Zhang Hanyu to listen to the song and guess the name of the song, and I played six or seven Xue Zhiqian's songs in a row, and I could say the name of the song as soon as the prelude sounded.

Do you have any favorite foods? Can't cook? (Qinghai Grassland - National Feather Olympics cheers)

I love to eat a lot, and I like heavy flavors. Being able to cook is a foodie's self-cultivation, and now I do a lot less because I eat in the team.

Evaluate yourself, are you the kind of man who is particularly funny and neurotic. (Take a step back and jump)

I shouldn't be funny, I'm just a lot of simple talkers, I like to talk, and I'm less funny. If it's funny, it's that I'm going to be embarrassed!

Not the most "e", but the most talking

What is Mr. Cheng Xing's MBTI (it can be seen that it is very E anyway)? (crhhhh-)

I must be an e-person! I'm not e, maybe no one e, I'm ENTJ. I can't say that I am the most E on the team, but there should be no more people to talk about than me.

Who are the best friends in the team? (crhhhh-)

Zeng Weihan and Zhang Hanyu, we are all in the same batch. Zhang Hanyu must be a sworn friend, we are a group, and we have been roommates since the youth team. Zhang Hanyu and I even have the same slippers and computer keyboards, anyway, Brother Zhang bought them and I thought it was easy to use, and I would buy the exact same!

Recommend hometown attractions and food. And how about your Cantonese? (Little monsters like puppies, Mai)

I am from Jiangxi, and I recommend both Lushan Xihai and Jingdezhen. I went to Guangdong in 2012, so I haven't been to many attractions in Jiangxi Province, and I've been to both of them. For food, we must recommend Jiangxi's fried noodles, Nanchang fried noodles and crockpot soup are cheap and delicious. I'm trying to learn Cantonese, but I still can't listen to it. It often happens that Zeng Weihan and they talk to me in Cantonese, and I answer them in Mandarin.

Are there any seniors in the badminton world who are more admired? Why? (Angel Yellow Piglet)

That must be Brother Nan (Zhang Nan)! I like Brother Nan's ball control, as well as his ability to control the situation, and he is particularly willing to study in training. When I was in the youth team, Director Chen (Chen Qixuan) told us that Brother Nan trained, and one to three full-court ball control could be practiced for 60 minutes, and the players who practiced until the sparring team were replaced. When Brother Nan was in the room, he was watching the video, and in the summer of Beijing, he wore a vest and held half a watermelon and started watching the video.

Complete the mindset shift

What has been your biggest improvement in the past year? (Little monsters like puppies)

I think it's the ability to solve problems on the field. When I first came out last year, I didn't know what to do when I encountered a problem, and I would keep losing points, and then I became less and less confident. The turning point at that time was when Fanghui told me that the United States and Canada were the only mixed doubles pairs, and we had always been behind our older sisters, and at that time, if we wanted to stand up and get results, we had to stand up. My mentality has changed a lot in the preparation and subsequent competitions, that is, I feel that I am also a member of the Chinese badminton team, and I can also represent the Chinese team to win the championship, so when I encounter problems, I will find a way according to the situation at that time.

Rematch with Chi Mei, what is the difference from the previous youth competition, will it be more tacit? (Don't lose a good mood)

When we were in the youth team, we were partners, and we had a foundation of cooperation and tacit understanding, and now it is more about our individual strength that has improved, but the overall cooperation and connection have not yet reached the state we expected. The two of us joked that they were like the most familiar strangers, familiar with the habit of running and holding the ball, but the details of the division of labor were very unfamiliar, and it would feel very different at the beginning.

Do you want to ask what your goals are for this year? Ranking points champion or something? (-Nicky-W、Apreslaneige、crhhhh-)

The first goal of the year has actually been achieved – a 300 championship. The goal is to win the 500 races and higher. In terms of rankings, I hope to reach 15th and close the gap with the top three pairs.

Is there any difference between partnering with Fanghui and Chimei? Who is it better to work with? (crhhhh-)

Partnering with Fang Hui can form more of my position in the first half, and her position in the backcourt will have more double pressure and defensive counterattack lines when playing. Zhang Chi's words, I will be more inclined to create attacks, and the competition will be more fierce in the first half of the game. Actually, if I'm more powerful myself, I'll be more suitable for anyone!

There is a shadow on the cut inch

Is there a hairstyle requirement? Could it be a self-generated volume? Why not trust Tony of Lingshui! (Ah Yuen, Hong Kong)

Sometimes I have a hairstyle request, but most of the time it's just a matter of fate. Surely not the self-rolled rolls! I once cut my head in Lingshui, and when I came back after cutting, everyone said that I was like the admiral (yellow ape) in One Piece, the kind of 50-year-old uncle, and I was a little psychologically shadowed.

I would like to ask Xiao Cheng, what was the trigger for starting to play badminton? What is it that fell in love with badminton drops? (RrebayHee-)

The opportunity to play badminton was when my dad took me to play, I was not in good health when I was a child, I wanted to exercise more and keep fit, so I played badminton at home, and then I embarked on this path. Falling in love with badminton was when the mixed doubles group of the youth team was established in 2020, when there were only 4 people in our group (me, Zhang Chi, Yang Jiayi, Li Haoge), at that time, everyone was better than us, Director Chen told me a sentence: the more difficult things, the more people need to do them, everyone can do simple things successfully, and you decide what kind of person you want to be. It was in the process of doing this that I found that badminton is so interesting, there are many combinations of lines that can achieve different effects, and I love this brain-using process!

After partnering with Chi Mei, what kind of expectations do you have for future competitions? What else do the two need to run into? (Puppies will eat cream)

Looking forward to unlocking more high-level tournaments in the future! We are still a little stuck in the stage of attacking and defending, and we have to focus on solving this later.

Many people praise you for being handsome, but how many do you think your appearance ranks first in the men's team? (Who sold the first place)

I really don't think it's handsome, I think Brother Siwei, Wang Chang, Ah Feng, Brother Ou, etc. are all very handsome! I'm not on the list.

Don't you think Xingchi is a combination of Yan Ba? (bbbb_uuu)

Zhang Chi is Yan Ba, I am a combination, hahahahaha, I strive not to drag Yan Ba back.

Describe Zhang Chi in 5 words! (pcssllxy)

Smart, quick, clever, domineering, determined

Playing in China is the most reassuring

After playing so many international races, is there a country you like very much? (crhhhh-)

I'm an "otaku", and the first time I go abroad to compete is to see what takeaway is near the hotel, so I rarely go out. My favorite thing has to be China, and every time I play at home, I feel very relieved.

What is it like to play the three stops in Europe this time "back-to-back"? (No wind or rain when it is sunny)

I played 14 games in those three tournaments, probably the most I have played in three weeks since I entered the international arena, and the most obvious feeling is the drop in energy. Especially when Switzerland scored eight into four, the body's function was not bad, but I just couldn't keep my eyes on the ball, and I felt that the ball came very fast.

What are your hobbies during your breaks? (Apreslaneige)

Sleep, of course! As the saying goes, you can eat and sleep, you can practice anti-manufacturing, and ensure a good rest to better meet the training after you!

What is your best sport outside of badminton? (Apreslaneige)

Basketball. Because when I was a child, my dad was afraid that I wouldn't grow tall, so he took me to play basketball, saying that running, running, jumping and jumping would help me grow taller.
