In order to strengthen the awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation of teachers and students and improve the disaster prevention and mitigation emergency response capabilities of teachers and students, on May 10, 2024, on the occasion of the 16th National "Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day", Heyang County Vocational Education Center organized teachers and students to carry out emergency drills for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and evacuation.
The school's Office of Student Affairs and the Safety Education Department made arrangements and deployments in advance and formulated drill plans. On May 6, the school used the school meeting to arrange an earthquake drill to publicize and mobilize all teachers and students; On May 9, an education class on the theme of "Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction" was organized to publicize the basic knowledge and skills of earthquake emergency drills, so that students could understand the arrangements and requirements of earthquake drills, and clarify their escape routes and evacuation locations.
At 14:40 on May 10, as the alarm sounded, the teachers in charge of the teaching building, apartment building and office building quickly organized teachers and students to avoid danger scientifically; "After the main shock stopped", according to the whistle prompt, teachers and students were organized to evacuate to the evacuation area in an orderly manner along the preset safety evacuation channel.
Heyang County Vocational Education Center has always attached great importance to disaster prevention drills, and implemented the requirements of emergency evacuation drills in the daily operation process. In the summary and comment of the drill activities, Wang Xing, the head of the safety education department, hoped that the students would be more self-disciplined, more friendly, and more responsible in their daily life, so as to make their future better and more secure.
