The 2023 Bordeaux en primeur is being launched, with the powerful Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA's Château Mouton, Château Damajac and Château Clamiron bringing a selection of high-quality wines. In addition, the 1855 fifth-class Château du Zac and Gatormet Winery continued the wonderful performance of previous years and lived up to expectations.
It is worth mentioning that the wet weather in 2023 has created good conditions for noble rot mushrooms, and the noble rot sweet white wine produced is condensed in flavor and pleasant acidity, which is expected.

The 2023 Château de Gudai noble rot sweet white wine is a star in the spotlight compared to other wines from Barsac, but without being ostentatious. The limestone soils bring about characteristics that support the wine. On the palate it is well-balanced, with intense aromas of noble rot fruit, hints of spices, dried honey and orange peel, as well as hints of apricots, with a long finish that lingers between the lips and teeth. I wouldn't dare to say that this is the best Château de Coutérie noble rot sweet white in recent years, but it is certainly one of the best wines of the vintage, with good ageing potential.
