May 12 this year is the 16th Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day in the mainland, in order to further improve the people's emergency avoidance ability and self-rescue and mutual rescue ability, highlighting the theme of "everyone stresses safety, everyone will respond to emergencies - strive to improve the ability of grassroots disaster prevention and risk avoidance", on May 10, Yangwan Town, Wangjiang County, Anhui Province, organized a volunteer service team of veterans, together with the medical staff of the town health center, to Yangwan Central Primary School to carry out earthquake prevention and disaster reduction emergency knowledge publicity activities.
"When we encounter a fire, we should try our best to stay calm, use local materials, and protect ourselves as soon as possible. If we encounter a fire, we should immediately cover our mouth and nose with a wet towel, try to keep our body close to the ground and the wall, and bend or crawl forward...... In daily life, students must pay attention to the safety of fire and electricity to prevent accidents. Chen Fei, a retired military volunteer in Yangwan Town, combined with the theme of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, carried out popular science publicity on earthquake, fire and flood emergency knowledge to students through PPT explanations and class Q&A, so that students could understand the types of disasters, hazards and how to escape and save themselves, and enhance students' awareness of safety precautions.
In this activity, He Weihua, Secretary of the Party Branch of Yangwan Town Health Center, led the medical staff to conduct a drowning first aid cardiopulmonary resuscitation drill for all students on the playground. The drill was based on the patient's loss of consciousness after drowning, and simulated the emergency response procedures of the whole link and the whole process. The on-site medical staff raced against time to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation operations on patients, breathing and pulse checks, chest compressions, airway opening, artificial respiration... During the whole first aid process, the medical staff demonstrated and explained, rigorous and orderly. Student representatives were invited to the stage to use model people to conduct step-by-step explanations and "actual combat" training.
