In terms of schedule, the international bird watching competition will be the highlight of the event. The competition will be held from May 17th to 19th, and the opening ceremony will be held in the Wawu Mountain Scenic Area on the 17th, when 31 teams from home and abroad will be invited to participate in the grand event. These teams will be made up of professional bird-watching enthusiasts, who will compete fiercely in the Wawu Mountain Scenic Area for the highest honor in this bird-watching competition.

The Amateur Bird Watching Experience Competition will be held in the Wawu Mountain Scenic Area from May to July, attracting many amateur bird watchers and bird lovers to participate. By taking photos of birds and uploading them to the platform, participants will have a chance to win great cash prizes by sharing their birding experience at Wawu Mountain.

In addition to the bird-watching competition, a series of activities will be held in this bird-watching season, and the scenic spot will launch a new bird-watching policy product and a variety of "wine + scenery" combination packages for the society. In order to allow tourists to better appreciate the natural scenery of Wawu Mountain, the scenic spot has also carefully planned a number of bird watching routes such as Wawu Sendai (mountain top), Lanxi cliff plank road - mid-mountain gallery (middle and high mountainous area), and Wawu Mountain Grand Canyon (low mountainous area).

Wawu Mountain Scenic Area is located in Hongya County, Meishan City, about 180 kilometers away from Chengdu, is the world's second largest and Asia's largest flat-topped Table Mountain, and has been awarded the "Most Beautiful Table Mountain" by China National Geographic, and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. As an eco-tourism resort in China, Wawu Mountain is famous for its unique natural environment and rich biological resources, especially the rich bird population, and is a world-famous bird-watching base and one of the top ten bird-watching resorts in Sichuan. With the advantages of biodiversity and bird distribution, it attracts about tens of thousands of bird-watching enthusiasts every year, becoming the well-known "hometown of Chinese crows and birds, and the international bird-watching paradise", and in 2009, the Wawushan National Bird Watching Competition was held, attracting more than 10 provinces in China, as well as birders from Germany, Singapore, Thailand and other countries to participate in the competition, and the response was enthusiastic. The 2024 Wawushan First International Birdwatching Season aims to further enhance the international visibility and influence of Wawushan and promote the sustainable development of the eco-tourism industry.
