A few days ago, some Douyin creators received a notice from the creator center of the platform saying that in order to optimize the creator experience, Douyin no longer supports accounts that mainly publish social current affairs, finance, law or medical content, or accounts with high followers and greater influence and commercial promotion accounts to establish an authorization relationship that includes content publishing capabilities. If the creator's account has made such authorizations, the corresponding authorization relationship will be terminated from May 15.

According to Douyin's customer service, the commercial promotion accounts involved in the aforementioned notice mainly include a large number of advertising accounts, a large number of Qianchuan accounts and a large number of local push accounts.

Some content creators on Douyin have expressed concern about the change, worrying that it will affect the content of their accounts, that is, whether they can no longer post content such as social politics, finance, law or medical care.

In this regard, Douyin's official customer service told Blue Whale News, "In order to protect the rights and interests of creators and optimize the creator experience, Douyin has adjusted the account authorization function in commercial promotion scenarios, including no longer supporting government media institutions or accounts that mainly publish social current affairs, finance, law or medical content, or accounts with a high number of fans and greater influence, and commercial promotion accounts (including huge advertising accounts, huge Qianchuan accounts, huge local account promotion, etc.) to establish an authorization relationship that includes content publishing capabilities, please understand." ”

A person close to Douyin also told Blue Whale News that this is a small functional adjustment in commercialization and has little impact. "This adjustment is independent and does not affect any other monetization or commercialization capabilities of the author, including advertising, e-commerce, etc., nor does it involve content creation."
