Today, when I came to the picturesque eastern part of Sichuan, the mountain cliffs made people shudder. A cave in the mountains made us even more curious. Later, after being introduced by the local villagers, it made us even more creepy. This is what the hole looks like.
The entrance to the cave is about 17 meters long, in the shape of a mouth, and about 3 meters high. The top is covered with stone stalactites, like the heart and lungs of a person, and the solid people call it "heart and lung cliff". Judging from the appearance alone, it is like a big mouth of blood, as if it wants to swallow heaven and earth. We mustered up the courage to explore further, when suddenly an old man in his 80s stopped me. And said, the inside is not clean.
Rather, it tells a legend about this place. It is said that a few years ago, the top of the cliff here is perennially flowing continuously, there is a pair of golden ducks stationed in it, and guarding the safety of this side, and then because the villagers rarely worship, the golden duck is indignant, so he left, that year there was a big flood, many people did not spend the summer of that year.
Since the departure of the pair of golden ducks, there has been no running water here. The remaining villagers carried the bodies of their fallen companions into the cave and performed many rituals. Later, the land was finally quiet. As a result, this cave mouth was regarded as an ominous place by the locals, and all those who died in the future would be wrapped in wooden boxes and placed inside.
Until a few decades ago, there was an old man who would hallucinate every time he passed by here, so he burned it clean. After that, the illness was cured. Listening to this old man's confession really added a little fear. But it still can't stop my stubborn heart. Get ready to find out. Take a closer look, the lower square of the cave mouth looks like a Buddha statue.
The hole is overgrown with all kinds of plants, and it is difficult to move an inch. But I could vaguely see the huge space inside, and a cool breeze hit me from inside, and my heart couldn't help but beat a little faster. You can also see the ruins of many boxes, as well as an indescribable smell. About 15 meters or so, a huge staircase and pillar appeared, and it continued down into the endless darkness. The height of the stairs is about 9 meters. It really seems that this is the only way to stop there.
Well, through the exploration of this cave, what the old man said earlier is not a fabrication, it is a fact, but it is incomplete. Below I will have my explanation. First, the rocks here belong to limestone formations, which are prone to chemical reactions CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O = Ca(HCO3)2. When heated or pressure suddenly decreases, the dissolved Ca(HCO3)2 will decompose, thus forming stalactites and stalagmites. It will also cause a large amount of calcium to be lost, so such a large space will be formed. Second, from the terraces of the outer rivers and the phenomenon of dry valleys several kilometers long, it can be inferred that the water table here has dropped in full years, so there is no water at the mouth of the cave now. It's not the so-called golden duck swimming.
As for the hallucinations that the old man will hallucinate every time he walks here, or because of his own psychological illness and fear, there is an old saying that is not very good, don't do bad things, don't be afraid of ghosts calling the door!
