On the occasion of the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, on May 11, the launching ceremony of the 2024 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week in Helan County was held in Xinlan Square. This year's theme is "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Striving to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance Capabilities".
At the event site, led by the County Disaster Reduction Office and the Emergency Management Bureau, more than 20 member units of the County Disaster Reduction Committee, including the County Education and Sports Bureau, the Public Security Bureau, the Health Bureau, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau, and the Red Cross, were invited to carry out safety and disaster prevention and mitigation science publicity. The activity advocates that we should actively participate in various disaster prevention and mitigation activities organized by the government, schools and communities, actively publicize disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge and disaster avoidance and self-rescue skills, consciously investigate the potential safety hazards around us, strive to be a disaster prevention and mitigation volunteer, create an atmosphere of "disaster prevention and reduction, everyone participates", and create a safe and beautiful home. After the launching ceremony, a disaster prevention and mitigation evacuation drill was also carried out in Helan County Experimental Primary School.
It is reported that from May 11th to 17th is the Helan County Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week, during which Helan County will hold a series of activities such as the theme of "Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Experts", the county's primary and secondary school safety and disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge competition, and the online knowledge competition for the improvement of safety quality and ability of the three-year action to tackle the root cause, popularize the knowledge of disaster prevention, emergency avoidance and self-help and mutual rescue, guide all sectors of society to pay close attention to disaster prevention and control, and take multiple measures to enhance the awareness of the whole society to deal with various disasters and accidents.
