May 12, 2024 is the 16th "National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day" in mainland China, in order to improve students' awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and their ability to respond to emergencies and self-rescue and mutual rescue in the event of an earthquake, learn the lessons of major casualties caused by earthquakes, and escape quickly and orderly when an earthquake occurs, our school carried out an emergency evacuation drill for disaster prevention and mitigation on the morning of May 10.
Disaster prevention and mitigation education and publicity
Before the emergency drill, we carried out a series of safety education activities with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Striving to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance Capabilities". Disseminate disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge in a variety of ways to create a good atmosphere. Each class actively organized students to watch the "5.12" disaster prevention and mitigation promotional video, showing students the huge losses caused by natural disasters, and the homeroom teacher also used courseware to explain to the students how to avoid disasters and save themselves when natural disasters such as earthquakes and mudslides came; The school also uses various forms such as the red scarf radio station, the campus big screen, and the speech under the national flag to publicize the knowledge of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.
Emergency evacuation drills
Listen, a rapid earthquake alarm bell sounded, and Danan Street Primary School in Chuanshan District kicked off the emergency drill. Students quickly hid under their desks with books or schoolbags on their heads; When the bell rang again, the students, under the leadership of the homeroom teacher, ran downstairs in an orderly manner to the school playground, and it took only 59 seconds for the whole school to evacuate safely. The teachers of the corridor evacuation safety team controlled the evacuation speed of students at the staircase and reminded students to pay attention to avoid dangerous areas. After arriving at the playground, the homeroom teacher counts the number of people and reports to the commander-in-chief.
After the drill, Li Xiaolan, vice president of the school, summarized the earthquake prevention and disaster reduction emergency evacuation drill. First of all, it was affirmed that the teachers and students were in a hurry, stable and orderly during the whole exercise, and achieved the expected goal; Some problems that arose during the evacuation process were re-emphasized.
Through the development of this activity, it not only enhanced the awareness of teachers and students in disaster prevention and mitigation, but also improved their basic skills of disaster avoidance and self-rescue, and achieved good educational results.
