Most of the patients in the geriatric department have the characteristics of multi-disease coexistence, complex and diverse conditions, difficult nursing work, and cumbersome nursing work. Among them, due to the increase of age and the aging of the body, many hospitalized patients have varying degrees of malnutrition and swallowing disorders, and many elderly people have to be inserted into a gastric tube and cannot eat by mouth.
Wang Haiyan noticed in her work that many elderly people are eager to eat again and experience the happiness brought by food, and then return to normal social life. As a specialist nurse in nutritional support, she uses her professional knowledge and through continuous learning and clinical practice, she gradually becomes proficient in swallowing function assessment and a variety of swallowing function rehabilitation methods, and is able to carry out accurate functional assessment for the elderly with swallowing disorders, as well as appropriate oral training, neuromuscular electrical stimulation and other rehabilitation training. After targeted feeding training, she helped many elderly people to successfully remove their gastric tubes and once again experienced the joy of eating.
As the chief instructor of internal medicine nursing, Wang Haiyan undertook the teaching and management of internal medicine nurses in the hospital. As a clinical instructor for geriatric nurses, nutrition support nurses, and nursing interns, she not only imparts clinical knowledge to students, encourages them to explore new knowledge, and cultivates a spirit of innovation, but also understands that students' professional identity with nursing will have a very important impact on their future nursing abilities and careers. She has carried out in-depth scientific research in the clinical fields of nutrition for the elderly, swallowing disorders, cognitive impairments, etc. Since joining the company in 2019, she has obtained 3 utility model patents, published more than 10 core journals as the first author, presided over 1 bureau-level project "Evidence-based Construction and Application of Exercise Intervention Programs for Elderly MCI Patients", and participated in a number of research projects.

After the condition of the elderly gradually improved, they also led the nursing team to help them rehabilitate and exercise, through the unremitting efforts of the medical staff, the elderly gradually left the bed from the initial bedridden state, and were able to complete the basic life self-care with the encouragement and assistance of the family, the old man must hug Wang Jing and all the hard-working nurses with tears on the day of discharge, and the family also presented a pennant of gratitude.

In September 2023, Lu Zhizhi and his team arrived in Conakry, the capital of Guinea. After officially settling in the camp, the first task assigned by captain Song Xiantao to all the team members is to integrate into each department as soon as possible, investigate the operation and management of each department, sort out the daily work process and clarify the implementation of rules and regulations, so that medical assistance can be targeted. As an operating room nurse, Lu Zhizhi immediately devoted himself to the investigation of operating room work.
Although he had made a preliminary understanding of the local operating room conditions before leaving, when Lu Zhizhi opened the door of the operating room, he was still quite shocked: the chaotic stacking of bloody operating room instruments, the dilapidated operating table towel, the household air conditioner blowing directly on the operating table, and the shadowless lamp that was so dim that it was almost impossible to light up...... At the same time, these images also ignited a flame in his heart, and he secretly determined: he must find a way to change the backward appearance here.
In view of the harsh operating room environment, Lu Zhizhi actively sought the advice of Xu Bin, the head nurse of the domestic operating room nursing expert, and formulated a set of practical improvement plans. He went to the hospital warehouse to find the ultraviolet lamp, and repaired the ultraviolet disinfection lamp that had been suspended for many years.
