At the age of 14, Wang Deshun dropped out of school to become a bus conductor, and later went to work as an electrician in a military factory in Shenyang.
At that time, there was a workers' cultural palace in Shenyang, which taught singing, acting, and recitation, and there were all interest classes, and they were free.
So Wang Deshun reported the interest classes in the Cultural Palace.

But Wang Deshun has been consistent, as long as he gets off work, he will go to the Cultural Palace to study, relying on the "serious and hard" momentum, Wang Deshun has learned everything.

In 1959, Wang Deshun's military factory set up a performance team, whether it was recitation, singing and drama, Wang Deshun performed very well, so Wang Deshun was successfully selected.
In the following year, Wang Deshun followed the performance team to tour military factories all over the country, changing places every week, and touring the whole country.
A year later, Wang Deshun, who had returned to Shenyang, happened to see a sign that read "Shenyang Military Region Anti-Enemy Repertory Troupe" and walked in to ask if he was recruiting.
The repertory troupe asked him to sing, dance, and perform sketches one by one, and Wang Deshun came with his previous experience.

For this reason, Wang Deshun went to the Academy of Fine Arts as a mannequin, and often went to schools for the deaf and dumb, observing children when teaching them, and learning their expressions and movements.
Wang Deshun gradually found a way to create his first pantomime, Man and Snake, based on the story of the farmer and the snake.
In 1983, at the invitation of Ding Yangzhong, Wang Deshun went to the Chinese opera to participate in the International Brecht Symposium, at which he performed this pantomime, and the ten-minute performance attracted the attention of the German embassy, and invited him to Germany to participate in the World Pantomime Festival.
In 1985, Wang Deshun came to Beijing with more than 10 choreographed pantomime works and his whole family, and officially began to drift north.
At the beginning, there was no opportunity to perform in the theater, so his wife Zhao Aijuan went to Beijing colleges and universities to ask one by one, and the performance of more than 10 pantomimes for about two hours or so often only paid one or two hundred yuan.
Fortunately, Wang Deshun's work was a great success at the 12th International Pantomime Festival held in Cologne, Germany.

Wang Deshun's family is also known as the "Oriental Gypsy", and for the first eight years, they have been "wandering" and living without a fixed place until Wang Deshun saved enough money to buy an 80-square-meter house in Shahe, Beijing.
In 1993, at the age of 57, Wang Deshun once again created a one-of-a-kind pantomime performance: living sculpture.
At that time, the National Art Museum of China held the "French Rodin Art Exhibition", and Wang Deshun stayed in the exhibition hall all day to observe how the audience viewed Rodin's sculptures.
He was impressed by a girl standing in front of Rodin's Bronze Age statue and watching it for 40 minutes.
"I was standing from a distance and watching her, and I knew that the time had come for living sculpture and that nude art would be acceptable."
So, Wang Deshun found someone to copy Rodin's sculpture, painted his whole body in bronze, and interpreted three different love stories with the sculpture:
The love of Adam and Eve expelled from the Garden of Eden, the psychosis love of Rodin and his lover Camille Crowdale, and the love of Paul and Francisco in Hell.
As a result, the first performance was a great success, and many reporters and admirers approached Wang Deshun.
This special performance has also appeared in many world-class performances such as international theater festivals, and Wang Deshun has been invited to perform at the Italian Embassy, the French Embassy and other embassies.

In 1994, Wang Deshun's "modeling pantomime" was officially included in "Pictures of China's Centennial History".

3. Lonely walkers, "outlaws" who pursue freedom
At the beginning of the new year in 1996, Wang Deshun bought himself a new diary. 1996 was an important year for him, as he was celebrating his 60th birthday.
At that time, the age of 60 meant retirement, and from then on, it was time to say goodbye to work and start enjoying your old age. However, on the title page of his diary, Wang Deshun wrote a letter to "Mr. 1996":
"I don't expect you to come...... It symbolizes my maturity and foreshadows my aging. Fortunately, I don't accept the old. ”
Wang Deshun once gave himself two definitions in an interview: "a lonely walker" and "an outlaw who pursues freedom".
I think these two definitions couldn't be more suitable for Wang Deshun.
Many people saw Wang Deshun's bright and glamorous side overnight, but they never saw the price behind it:
watched the collapse of his hard-earned career, but he was still able to endure humiliation and climb again in a down-to-earth manner;
Dare to gamble all the victories achieved for a higher goal;

Before drifting north, Wang Deshun and his wife created a pantomime "Life".

In this drama, he plays the life of a person.
The lights are on, and he wears a pair of flesh-colored briefs, (rolling from a bag to the ground) as if a baby was born from the mother's womb, and then he plays the baby's climbing, the child's toddler, the youth's running and jumping, the twilight rickets, a life's journey.
But this pantomime was rejected by the people of the Changchun Troupe. The person in charge of the art committee in charge of the review told Wang Deshun that it was immoral to be poorly dressed.
Later, he rehearsed another play "Prisoner". A prisoner in an iron cage, longing for freedom, breaks free from the cage and has a false dream.
But the troupe rejected it again, and the opinion was: Are you playing a good guy or a bad guy? Good people are free, do you want life to be free? How can the bad guys get him out of the cage? There is a problem with ideological consciousness.
It was these two works that made Wang Deshun realize that there was no soil for pantomime to grow in Changchun, so Wang Deshun decided to resign and go to Beijing when he was about to enter the age of knowing the destiny of heaven.
"I'm here, you won't let me play anything, I don't want the salary you pay me."
At that time, Wang Deshun's good friend grabbed his clothes and persuaded him:
"You stupid, you're 50 years old, you will retire in 10 years, you have a pension and medical insurance after retirement, you don't have to worry about the rest of your life, you leave now, you can't live anymore."
But Wang Deshun did not listen to persuasion, and took his wife and children to Beijing.
"What is an outlaw, regardless of life or death, it is called an outlaw."
When it was the most difficult time in Beijing, Wang Deshun's family lived in the house of a relative who was "touched by the edge", and when the "real relative" came, Wang Deshun's family "moved out", and there was nowhere to go that night, so Wang Deshun's family of four slept in the underground passage of Wangfujing.
The road of pantomime is difficult, not only in the embarrassment of life, but also in the fact that not many people in the whole country have studied pantomime.
It can be said that Wang Deshun is equivalent to a lone traveler on this road, and has paved a way for domestic latecomers on the world stage.
In fact, whether it is pantomime, living sculpture, acting, catwalk, or even life, in the end, it is all the same:
That's that you have to work hard enough to put on a good enough show.
In order to make the living sculpture present the best performance effect, Wang Deshun first walked into the gym and insisted on exercising for two or three hours a day, and never stopped for three years, so Wang Deshun really practiced the figure like an ancient Greek sculpture.
Then another problem was solved—breathing.
While performing for the Italian Embassy, the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy asked Wang Deshun in surprise after watching his performance:
"For a one-and-a-half-hour show, I noticed that your abdomen was completely still, undulating without breathing, how did you do that?"
Wang Deshun put one hand of the counselor on his stomach and the other hand on his back, and the counselor was surprised to find that he had been breathing with his back all along.
"I must not let my statue gasp on stage!"
Also in acting, at the age of 78, Wang Deshun learned to drive a heavy motorcycle in the crew.
At that time, there was a scene, he rode around according to the director's requirements, and it was no problem at first, but he stepped on the accelerator, didn't control it, and went directly to the camera.
Wang Deshun immediately made a decision, pushed the car out, and the person flew out in another direction.
But Wang Deshun's first sentence after getting up was: "Don't go to the hospital first, let's finish filming this shot." ”
After filming, Wang Deshun went to the hospital for an examination, and he was fortunate for the rest of his life, his head was fine, and there was no fracture.
In order to fulfill his childhood dream, Wang Deshun also learned to fly an airplane at the age of 85.
It is undeniable that as an 85-year-old man, Wang Deshun is not as fast as young people.
The information that young people can memorize in one night, Wang Deshun will take 4 or 5 days, or even longer.
So Wang Deshun spends at least 8 hours a day taking theoretical classes, making up for flight principles, aerodynamics, meteorology and other subjects, and going back to the dormitory to read and digest books.
Sitting on the plane for practical operation, controlling the flight in a variety of complex operating instruments, every second requires him to be highly concentrated and quick to react.
But in just 3 months, he learned to fly and completed another challenge in his life.
