Recently, the renovation of the "Memory Home" dementia care area of Dongjing Nursing Home was completed, and the first batch of 7 elderly people with dementia were successfully welcomed. This renovation project provides a warmer, more interesting and functional living environment for elderly people with dementia.
It is reported that the "Memory Home" area covers an area of about 330 square meters, with 1 independent care unit and 12 well-designed beds. The whole area is mainly home-style, integrating entertainment and functionality, ensuring that the elderly can experience the warmth and fun of home while receiving professional care.
Through the use of sensory therapy, nostalgia therapy, horticultural therapy and other interventions, the professional team customizes personalized care plans for the elderly. In the "Memory Home", the elderly can not only participate in handicraft and gardening activities, but also sing to music, do finger exercises, and watch their favorite movies and operas in the "Activity Room". In addition, the "Memory Corridor", "Nostalgic Photo Wall" and "Baby Paradise" facilities in the special area provide an excellent place for the elderly to reminisce about the past and feel the fun of nature.
It is worth mentioning that in order to ensure that the elderly can easily identify and use various facilities, each room in the special area is designed with unique colors and patterns, and these thoughtful design details all reflect the care and respect for the elderly with dementia.
Peng Fengqin, director of Dongjing Nursing Home, said that in the future, she will continue to pay attention to the needs and feedback of the elderly, continuously optimize the service quality of the "Memory Home" area, and create a loving and dignified living environment for more elderly patients with dementia.
