In mid-April, we arrived in Yuanyang, and although the best time for photography had passed, the scenery was still shocking.

Yuanyang Rice Terraces, located in the southern part of Ailao Mountain in Yuanyang County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is a masterpiece left by the Hani people for generations. The Yuanyang Rice Terraces are the core area of the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces. [1] The Honghe Hani Terraces are a spectacular phenomenon of terraced farming civilization created by the people of all ethnic groups mainly Hani by taking advantage of the special geographical climate to reclaim the same land, with a grand scale and majestic momentum. The terraced fields cultivated by the Hani nationality in Yuanyang change with the terrain of the mountain, the large land with gentle slope is reclaimed with large fields, the small fields with steep slopes are reclaimed with small fields, and even the stone gaps under the ditch side are also cultivated, so the terraced fields are large with several acres, and the small ones are only large with dustpans, and there are often thousands of acres on a slope.

Honghe Hani Terraces is located in the south of Yunnan, all over the four counties of Yuanyang, Honghe, Jinping and Luchun in Honghe Prefecture, with a total area of about 1 million mu, and there are 170,000 mu of terraced fields in Yuanyang County alone. Yuanyang Terraced Rice Fields is a landscape and pastoral scenery painting that the Hani people have been "carving" endlessly for more than 1,300 years. On June 22, 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee, the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces were successfully inscribed on the World Heritage List, becoming the 45th World Heritage Site in China.
