On May 11, the seminar on "Education + Artificial Intelligence" was held in Dayu Middle School, Mentougou District. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from the scene that Dayu Middle School tried to empower the new development of the school with digital intelligence, triggering a new quality productivity of education, and the school established an AI application scenario practice center to bring the "artificial intelligence + education" application scenario to the classroom. In the AI application scenario demonstration session, intelligent pronunciation evaluation technology is used in English listening and speaking classroom teaching, Chinese teachers use intelligent correction technology to correct students' compositions, and students use AI smart pens for classroom exercises in mathematics class. It is worth noting that the 3D virtual person tailored by Wang Guiying, a special teacher of Dayu Middle School, was unveiled to explain the course teaching on the spot.
First of all, the participants came to Jingxi Zhigu Science and Technology Park for a visit. Located in the Mentougou Park in Zhongguancun, the "Jingxi Zhigu" AI Computing Center is the first AI training computing platform in Beijing that provides inclusive computing power for enterprises, and is jointly built by Zhongguancun Development Group, Mentougou District Government, and Huawei. To this end, the three parties have cooperated to establish the "Jingxi Zhigu" artificial intelligence ecological innovation center, which carries out research and development for diversified scenarios and common technologies, creates an independent, controllable, open-source, safe and efficient domestic software and hardware computing power cluster, supports the operation of hundreds of billions of parameter large models, and echoes the construction of China's computing power network, and strives to become an intelligent computing power hub in the north.
Subsequently, the participants came to Mentougou Dayu Middle School for inspection. Students are taking a special "English for Science and Technology lesson" with a discussion on the topic of "Innovation". In the classroom, teachers interact in real time with the help of "AI bean bag teaching assistants" to help students understand the specific connotation of "innovation". Teachers used intelligent pronunciation evaluation technology to realize the human-computer interaction listening and speaking exercises in the form of reading aloud, reading aloud, dictation and other forms of human interaction for the whole class in the ordinary classroom, and formed evaluation feedback, and summarized the data for process learning situation analysis. Teachers can keep abreast of changes in the learning situation in the classroom, understand the common mistakes of the class and the individualized problems of students, and improve the quality and efficiency of English learning.
In addition, there is a Chinese class in the first year of high school, and the content is argumentative essay writing. In the classroom, the teacher uses the intelligent correction technology to correct the composition in a timely manner, which greatly shortens the time for composition correction, can directly comment on the composition in class, and generates a comprehensive score. Teachers can make custom modifications according to teaching needs, evaluate from different dimensions, and the system will give writing suggestions. Finally, it is visually displayed in the form of a radar chart, which can allow students to better know the direction of their own composition.
In the math class of "Solving Triangles", each student has an AI smart pen, which integrates handwriting recognition, intelligent correction and other technologies. When students use the smart pen to conduct the first round of classroom exercises, they will not change their paper-and-pencil answering habits, and at the same time, they can get immediate feedback to understand their correct answer rate and wrong questions and detailed analysis. Teachers can view students' answer progress, handwriting and correction results in real time, so that teachers can accurately comment on exercises with a high error rate in the class. Teachers can effectively improve the quality of teaching by choosing class exercises or assigning them as personalized assignments according to class time.
It is worth noting that the 3D virtual human tailored by Wang Guiying, a special teacher of Dayu Middle School, was unveiled to explain the teaching of the course "Running and Fitness". "In order to give full play to the radiation role of high-quality teachers, according to generative artificial intelligence technology, a 'digital human for special teachers' is being developed to help the balanced expansion of teaching resources." The relevant person in charge of the Mentougou District Education Commission said that in the future, it is planned to promote the high-level application of virtual humans for special teachers and promote an interactive intelligent Q&A system. In the future, students can not only use text, but also use voice, photo and other methods to achieve the same interaction as teachers.
