It is reported that since 2002, the city of Urayasu in Chiba Prefecture has held an annual "adult ceremony" at Tokyo Disneyland for young people who have reached the age of 20 in the city that year. This year, due to ongoing construction work at Tokyo Disneyland, it was held at DisneySea. In addition, the event was originally scheduled to be held on January 11, but it was postponed to March 7 due to the fact that the three prefectures of the capital area (Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, and Kanagawa) once again entered a state of emergency on January 8.
In the indoor venue, which can accommodate about 1,500 people, the "adult style" that was held twice in previous years has been held in four times this year, and the event time has been shortened from 30 minutes to 20 minutes. In previous years, Mickey and Minnie Mouse would parachute into the new adults to interact, but this year, due to the need to prevent and control the epidemic, they only waved to everyone on the stage.
According to the Urayasu city government, about 1,700 people participated in the event this year. A sophomore college girl who attended the event said happily: "Some of my friends who live in Tokyo, many of them have not been able to participate in the 'adult style', so they are very envious of me." Another female college student said happily: "I thought I might not see Mickey this year, but I didn't expect to appear (on stage), which is really good." ”
