Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson is not optimistic about Chinese electric vehicles, saying in an interview that "China's electric car manufacturers are many years behind Tesla".

"Although there is a great improvement compared to the past, especially the battery and electric drive technology, it is not yet able to compete with Tesla, if you look at their powertrain technology, batteries, integration methods, the size and power output of the device, the volume power density of the drive unit, the overall efficiency of the system, they are all far from Tesla."

So why did he blatantly praise his rival Tesla? In fact, it's still to raise a hand for yourself. In the interview, he also said that Tesla is far from me (referring to Lucid) in terms of three-electric integration, efficiency and power density.

Lucid does have a very unique technology, but if the technology can't be translated into production capacity and consumers pay for it, it will be tantamount to a castle in the air, according to the plan, Lucid plans to produce only 9,000 cars in 2024, only 500 more than the 2023 production guidance.

It is worth mentioning that in February this year, Musk commented sharply on Lucid, it is reported that Lucid also has a factory in Saudi Arabia and is owned by a subsidiary of the country's sovereign wealth fund, Musk bluntly said that "Saudi financiers are the only factor that keeps them alive."
