Author Lewis Carroll's imagination is amazing, like an icy vine imagined in the air by elsa, the queen of ice. It is different from the general magic fairy tale, it carries some mystery, making people want to explore what kind of world it is; it also has some adventurous colors, which makes people wonder about little Alice's next adventure.

It's a very cute fairy tale. Whether in terms of language or typography, it shows a lively and cute, as if a child is telling a story with flying eyebrows, painting and coloring, and vividly appearing.

Page 3 Background of writing

There is an old Chinese saying that it is called having the heart to plant flowers and flowers without hair, and unintentionally planting willows into the shade. Lewis Carroll (real name Charles Letwich Dodgeson, 1832–1898) was not a writer of children's literature, but a priest and mathematician and logician. His work was completely unintentional.

Dodgson had never been married in his life, but he was very fond of children, especially well-behaved little girls. One of his favorite little girls, named Alice Liddell, was the daughter of a sheikh and was very cute- On July 4, 1862, Dodgson took the three little girls of the Liddell family on a water tour. Dodgson tells a wonderful story to Sister Alice on board. Alice was fascinated by this and begged him to write it down for him as she parted. So Dodgson wrote an eighteen-thousand-word "Alice's Underground Adventures" and gave it to Alice.

Coincidentally, the manuscript was seen by a children's literature writer named Henri Kings during the circulation. The connoisseur was so clever that he commissioned someone to persuade Dodgson to further revise it and publish it. At first, Dodgson did not believe that the manuscript had publishing value, but after being urged by friends, especially at the request of children, he decided to publish it, but he did not want to sign his real name, so he signed the pen name Lewis Carroll. Doddieson's old friend MacDonald took the manuscript home and read it to the child, and the 6-year-old boy said aloud: I want this book to be printed in 60,000 copies.

On July 4, 1863, the first anniversary of his water outing, Dodgson revised Alice in Wonderland. After the book was printed, it was quickly welcomed by children and has now spread all over the world as a gem of children's literature. People remember Lewis Carroll because he wrote the book Alice in Wonderland, and people don't know about the mathematician Dodgson. This is probably something that Dodgson didn't expect!

Page 4 Summary of contents

Alice in Wonderland is divided into the following chapters:

Chapter 1: Falling down the rabbit hole

One day, Alice sat with her sister on the riverbank. Suddenly, a strange white rabbit walked by—dressed, holding a pocket watch, talking to itself, in a hurry. Curious Alice ran after it and jumped down the rabbit hole. The hole was an abyss, and after a long time, Alice finally landed on the ground. She was shocked to find herself in a strange hall surrounded by doors large and small, all locked. She picked up a door key, but was able to open only a small door. Because the door was so small, she could only look over, but found that there was a Peugeot garden over there. She put the door key on the table and found a bottle of drink elsewhere in the hall that read "Drink me." Alice drank it involuntarily, and found herself shrunk, and when she could pass through the small door, she could not get back the door key on the table. In a panic, she picked up a cake that said "Eat me." This time, Alice ate it and grew so large that her head was pressed against the ceiling.

Chapter 2: The Pool of Tears

Alice couldn't help but cry, and the whole foyer was filled with tears. She inadvertently picked up a fan, and her body became smaller again, and she had to swim in her own tears. On the way, she encounters a mouse swimming with her. Alice wanted to make small talk with her, but always kept her house cat on her lips, which of course angered the rats who regarded the cat as their mortal enemy.

Chapter Three: Pointless Competitions and Long Stories

Tears washed away the other animals and birds; for a moment, Alice was surrounded by a group of animals. They gathered on the shore to discuss how to dry their bodies. Rats gave a lengthy speech about William I; Dodo thought the best way to do it was to have a fruitless race: everyone ran in circles, and there was no winner or loser. Alice listened, bored, and talked about the domestic cat again, which scared all the animals away.

Chapter 4: Mr. White Rabbit and Bill the Lizard

Mr. White Rabbit, who had caused Alice to fall into the ground, reappeared. This time, he was looking for the Duchess's gloves and fans. Mr. White Rabbit ordered Alice to enter the house and retrieve her belongings, but Alice entered the house, saw a biscuit, ate it, and her body grew larger. Frightened, Mr. White Rabbit ordered bill the gardener, Lizard Bill, to climb into the house from the chimney in search of something missing. By this time, a group of animals had gathered outside the house, and they looked at Alice's large arms in a daze and began to throw pebbles at her. The pebbles turned into cakes; Alice ate them one by one, and her body shrank again.

Chapter 5: Caterpillar Advice

Alice saw a mushroom with a blue caterpillar sitting on it. He smoked a shisha and asked Alice about it. Alice responded to him that she was in the midst of a period of personality change, and she was often restless, and she couldn't even remember a poem. Before the caterpillar leaves, it tells her the secret of the mushrooms: eating half of them will make her taller, and eating the other half will make her shorter. So she split the mushrooms in two, and sure enough, eating half of them made her very short, and eating the other half made her neck grow. Her head went straight into the trees, and the pigeons in the trees even mistakenly thought that her long neck was a poisonous snake. After some effort, Alice finally returned to her original height. She staggered along and stumbled into a small manor. At the same time, she uses mushrooms to adjust the most suitable height.

Chapter 6: Piglets and Pepper

Mr. Fish wanted to give the invitation letter to the Duchess in the house, so he entrusted the matter to Mr. Frog. Alice observed the process and said a bunch of obscure words to Mr. Frog, and finally let herself into the house. It turned out that the Duchess's cook was littering the dishes and cooking the soup, and adding a lot of pepper. There was so much pepper that Alice, the Duchess, and her baby sneezed incessantly, while the cook and the grinning Cheshire cat were unaffected. The baby cried uncontrollably, and the always grumpy Duchess was of course disgusted by this, and finally entrusted the baby to Alice's care. Alice carried the baby in her arms, but soon realized that the baby had turned into a pig.

Chapter Seven: Crazy Afternoon Tea

The Cheshire cat appeared in the tree and instructed Alice in the direction of the March rabbit's house. Then he disappeared, his toothless smile still there, floating in the air, which made Alice notice that the cat she had seen had almost no smiling face, but had never seen only a cat's smile and no body. Then Alice went to March Rabbit's house. At that time, March Rabbit, Mr. Hat and Sleeping Mouse were holding a crazy tea party, and Alice became a guest of the tea party. In this chapter, the sleeping mouse is almost always asleep; others tell Alice riddles and anecdotes. Mad Hatter revealed to her that since he was punished for keeping the time forever at six o'clock in the afternoon, that is, tea time, they had to eat refreshments all day. In between the conversations, Alice was insulted and could not stand the fatigue bombardment of puzzles and stories, and decided to leave. Before leaving, she asserted that it was the most boring tea party she had ever been to.

Chapter 8: The Queen's Croquet

Alice left the tea party and went into a garden. She meets three playful card servants who are painting the white roses on the tree red for the Red Heart Queen, who hates white roses. Then more solitaire servants, kings and queens lined up into the garden, and even Mr. White Rabbit came. Alice met the king and queen. The queen was hard to please, and she said that whenever she was slightly dissatisfied with things, she would shout her mantra , "Cut off his head for me!" The queen invited (and some might think it was an order) alice to play croquet with them, but the game soon fell into chaos. They used live flamingos as clubs and hedgehogs as balls. Then, Alice meets the Cheshire cat again. The Queen of Hearts ordered the Cheshire cat's head to be cut off, but the executioner complained that he could not do it because he could only see the cheshire cat's head. Since the Cheshire cat belonged to the Duchess, the Queen had to release the Duchess from prison and deal with the beheading.

Chapter Nine: The Story of the False Turtle

At Alice's request, the Duchess was taken to the croquet, where she pondered the meaning of everything around her. The Queen of Hearts dismisses the idea of beheading the Cheshire cat and introduces Alice to the Vulture Flying Lion. The Vulture-headed Flying Lion takes Alice to find the fake turtle. Although the fake turtle did not have anything to be sad about, it felt extremely lost. He told him that he had once made a real turtle at school. However, the Vulture Flying Lion interrupted him so that they could play the game together.

Chapter 10: Lobster Cube Dance

False turtles and vulture-headed flying lions dance lobster cube dances, while Alice recites "This is the sound of lobsters." Finally, the fake turtle sang "Turtle Soup" for Alice, and at this time the sound of "the trial began" came from afar, so the vulture-headed flying lion took Alice to the trial.

Chapter 11: Who Stole the Pie

Alice arrives at the place of judgment, and the Knight of Hearts is accused of stealing the Queen of Hearts' pie. The jury consisted of a variety of animals, including Bill the Lizard, and Mr. White Rabbit as the trumpeter. During the trial, Alice found herself getting older and older, and sleeping rats said that Alice had no right to grow taller at such a fast speed, squeezing him breathlessly. Alice replied that the sleeping mouse's accusation was ridiculous, because everyone would grow up, and she herself could not stop the process. Meanwhile, mad hatter and duchess's cooks were summoned to testify, and when the two men's questioning was over, Mr. White Rabbit was summoned as the next witness.

Chapter 12: Alice's Proof

Alice was summoned as a witness, and when she stood up because she was too long to bring down the jurors' bench, the king had to order the trial to be suspended until the jurors returned to the table. The king and queen cited article 42 as saying that anyone taller than a mile must withdraw from the court, but Alice denied it and refused to leave. Finally, after a quarrel, the queen and Alice order Alice's head to be cut off, but Alice is not afraid, she thinks they are nothing more than cards. The whole deck of cards flew up into the air and fell on Alice, who was about to wave them, but found herself awake by the river, her head still resting on her sister's lap, and her sister was waving the dead leaves from Alice's face. Alice told her sister about the dream and left first, while her sister fell asleep in a trance while thinking about Alice's strange dream.
