According to Hong Kong's "South China Morning Post" reported on the 17th, China refused the docking request of a German warship. Beijing said that other countries sending military planes and warships to the South China Sea to flaunt their might is provoking incidents and creating contradictions.

The German Navy's 4,000-ton frigate Bavaria departed from Wilhelmshaven last month on a six-month mission to the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen Germany's presence in the region.

Ahead of the Bavaria's departure, German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said their goal was to show allies in the region that "we will defend our values and interests together." She also said she wanted the EU to establish a "permanent presence" in the region.

A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said a few days ago that China refused to allow German warships to call in Chinese ports. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian responded that with the joint efforts of China and ASEAN countries, the situation in the South China Sea has remained generally stable. However, in recent years, in order to safeguard hegemony, a few major powers have frequently sent military aircraft and warships to the South China Sea to flaunt their might, provoke incidents, and deliberately create contradictions on maritime and other issues under the banner of safeguarding freedom of navigation. China's determination to safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests is unswerving, and it will continue to properly handle its differences with the countries concerned through consultations and negotiations. We also hope that countries outside the region will respect the efforts of regional countries to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea and play a constructive role.

China attaches importance to developing the all-round strategic partnership between China and Germany, including cooperation between the two militaries, and is willing to carry out friendly exchanges on the basis of mutual respect and mutual trust.

The South China Morning Post said that after the request to call the port was denied, the Bavaria renewed its route and will stop in the future, including the northern Australian city of Darwin.
