Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Chinese mixed-race figure skater Gu Ailing won the women's singles event with her outstanding performance, and at the age of 18, she became the focus of attention across China and even the entire Asian region!

The extraordinary achievements of this oriental girl from California, USA, have amazed everyone and sparked a strong interest and yearning for her family background.

The birth of Gu Ailing has undoubtedly deepened the love of the whole Chinese people for the special group of mixed-race children. People are following and envious, looking forward to their children being able to achieve such brilliant achievements in the future, like her, integrating the essence of Eastern and Western cultures.

However, in Western societies, mixed-race people are not as popular as they are in Asia, and on the contrary, they often suffer from racial discrimination and exclusion by the local population. What is the reason for this? Why is there such a huge contrast between the East and the West in their treatment of mixed-race children? This is a question that is really thought-provoking.

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

People's curiosity has been ignited, and it is necessary to dig deeper to find out what is causing this phenomenon.

To explore the deep prejudice and exclusion of mixed-race people in Western societies, we must go back centuries.

As early as the Age of Discovery, with their powerful navigation technology, the Western powers began to expand on a global scale. Not only did they discover new continents, but they also invaded places like Asia and Africa.

During this period, white Westerners built powerful colonial empires that led and promoted the development of industrial civilization.

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

Fueled by war and industrial civilization, whites have developed a sense of superiority on a psychological level, considering themselves noble "elite people." In contrast, they regarded those who were still in primitive societies as "inferior races" who were still in primitive societies.

Subsequently, during the period of colonial rule, this sense of superiority and discrimination was infinitely magnified and exacerbated. Relying on force, Western colonizers invaded and enslaved the homeland of many yellow and black people, exploiting and enslaved them as slaves, thus further reinforcing the contempt and discrimination of the rulers against the ruled.

However, as depicted in the Black Book, there is also a strict standard and extreme respect for the so-called "purity of blood" hidden in the strong Western cultural heritage.

This view advocates the establishment of human class by blood, and only the pure white blood is worshipped, and those who have half white blood are regarded as lowly beings, and even disdain to recognize their identity as descendants.

It is precisely because of this deep-rooted white supremacy and the continuous strengthening of colonial rule that Western society has unspeakable contempt and discrimination against mixed-race children, which has undoubtedly become the main culprit of serious racial problems.

However, in contrast to Western society, in the vast land of Asia, the mestizo has experienced a glorious period of reverence and worship. It all started centuries ago, when the Western powers embarked on the road of aggression and colonial expansion.

At first, in the face of foreign visitors from Europe and the United States, the people of the East harbored a state of contempt and hostility. Chinese people have expressed deep disgust for the unique appearance and thick body hair of Westerners, revealing pride and confidence in their own national culture.

However, as the Western powers forced open China's door, the ideas and culture of Western civilization poured in. Gradually, more and more local residents began to indulge in Western scientific and technological achievements, fashion concepts and lifestyles, and regarded everything in the West as flawless.

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

Under this unstoppable wave of westernization, some regions have even turned their attention to those who are of mixed race. They firmly believe that the hybrid who combines the essence of the two civilizations of the East and the West will show remarkable superiority, tall and straight, and intelligent beyond the world.

As a result, many local women are eager to marry Western men and have "noble" mixed-race offspring.

At that particular stage of history, there was a peculiar phenomenon in some Asian countries that regarded mixed-race children as "superior", and people's attitudes towards mixed-race children almost reached the point of worship.

Even at great cost, many women are willing to travel the ocean to seek surrogacy services just to get a mixed-race baby.

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

Although it is understandable in the historical context of the time that some regions are fanatical about Western culture and mestizos, we cannot ignore the absurdity behind this notion.

In the current era, many Asian countries have shaken off the historical haze of their fanatical pursuit of Westernization, regained their pride and self-confidence in their national culture, and at the same time, the blind admiration for Western civilization has gradually retreated.

People's attitudes towards mixed-race children are also gradually moving towards rationality and objectivity.

Regrettably, however, there is still a small group of people who have the wrong idea of mestizos, mistaking them for the superior "elite race". This misconception actually stems from a psychological phenomenon known as "survivorship bias".

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

The so-called "survivorship bias" refers to the fact that when we focus only on the most prominent and prominent figures, we tend to ignore the obscure general public.

On online social media, what we see is often those mixed-race stars with outstanding appearance and talent, while those mixed-race people with mediocre appearance and average ability are little known.

As a result, we have a cognitive bias that all mixed-race people are wonderful people.

However, the truth is that mixed-race people are not inherently better than the average person. They may be able to inherit some excellent physiological characteristics because of the fusion of genes, such as three-dimensional facial features, smooth and delicate skin tone, and so on.

However, this is not absolute, the key is to look at the appearance of the parents. If the parents are mediocre in appearance, then it is naturally difficult for a mixed-race child to stand out.

The same is true when it comes to intelligence. According to relevant research data, the average IQ of most mixed-race children is about 90 points, which is not as high as the IQ level of 100 to 110 for ordinary people.

Although they have a relatively low risk of congenital diseases, there is little hope of surpassing the average level of intelligence.

So we really don't need to expect too much from mixed-race people. They are just ordinary people, like us, there are both outstanding and ordinary people, but they are by no means the so-called "elite race".

Why do you feel like mixed-race people are always "superior" in Asia?

The over-glorification and deification of mixed-race children is undoubtedly a baseless nonsense.
