Since April, Shiping bayberry has entered the picking period one after another. In the bayberry plantation of Huaxiang Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. in Shiping County, bright red bayberry is hanging on the branches, and the villagers are picking and sorting.
Shiping County is located in the southern part of Yunnan Province and belongs to the subtropical plateau mountain monsoon climate zone. The altitude of the jurisdiction is 259 meters - 2551.3 meters, one of the nine major plateau lakes in Yunnan Yilong Lake is located in the territory, superior geographical location and natural conditions, coupled with refined scientific management, so that Shiping has become an ideal production area for the development of high-yield and high-quality bayberry.

Through the implementation of a series of measures, the bayberry grown tastes good and the yield has also increased.
In recent years, with the advent of varieties such as "Extra Early Plum", "Hard Silk", "Dongkui" and "Water Chestnut", the planting output of Shiping bayberry has been rising, and in 2018, "Shiping bayberry" was approved as a Chinese geographical indication certification trademark. In April 2024, the first batch of national famous, special and excellent new agricultural products will be announced, and Shiping bayberry will be among them.
As the earliest mature bayberry producing area in the country, Shiping makes every bayberry stand the test of diners. From methodical picking, to strict testing and control, to careful and responsible quality control packaging, each bayberry has undergone strict inspection and testing.

Strengthen sampling and testing during the maturity period of bayberry to ensure the quality and safety of bayberry products. Since the beginning of this year, 1,320 batches of rapid testing of bayberry and 32 batches of quantitative testing have been carried out, and the sampling scope covers the main producing areas of bayberry in the county. At the same time, we will actively promote the green and standardized development of the bayberry industry, formulate and promote the local standard "Shiping Bayberry Production Technical Regulations", increase the green and organic certification and supervision of bayberry products, and create a green and high-quality agricultural product production base. ”
At present, the planting of Shiping bayberry is concentrated in 6 towns and towns, including Yilong, Baoxiu, Baxin, Longpeng, Daqiao and Xincheng, with an area of 140,000 mu, an annual output of 130,200 tons, and an output value of 812 million yuan. With the advantages of large planting scale, guaranteed yield and unique climate and soil conditions, as well as early maturity period, long harvest period and wide sales range, it has become the earliest bayberry producing area in the country.
According to reports, due to the natural geographical and climatic environment, Shiping bayberry matures about 40 to 50 days earlier than other regions, the taste yield is relatively stable, and the market price is also considerable, the earliest mature hard wire second generation, the early plum is just listed when the base purchase price is between 80 yuan and 120 yuan.
