The US-led "Chip Quadripartite Alliance" is doomed to failure

The United States led the establishment of the "Chip Quadripartite Alliance"
In April 2022, the United States reached an agreement with Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, China, to form the so-called "Chip Quadripartite Alliance". The purpose of this alliance is to impose a technological blockade and sanctions on China in the field of chips, hindering China's development in key chip technologies. Specific measures include restricting the export of advanced chip manufacturing equipment to China, prohibiting the transfer of chip manufacturing technology to China, and preventing Chinese companies from acquiring overseas chip companies.
The reason why the United States did this is entirely out of selfishness to maintain its monopoly position in the chip industry and obtain excess profits. According to statistics, global chip sales will reach $592 billion in 2021, of which American companies account for nearly 50% of the market share. High-end chip technology is monopolized by a few American companies, such as Intel, AMD, Qualcomm and other companies occupy an absolute advantage. This has allowed the U.S. to reap huge profits from the chip industry and maintain technological leadership in key areas such as artificial intelligence and 5G communications.
Criticism and opposition from the international community
The unilateral formation of the "Quadripartite Alliance of Chips" by the United States has been widely criticized and opposed by the international community. China's response
In the face of the U.S. technology blockade, China must use the nation's strength to independently develop key chip technologies and get rid of the dilemma of being embargoed by the U.S. technology.
In recent years, the Chinese government has attached great importance to the development of the chip industry, introduced a series of support policies, and increased R&D investment. For example, SMIC, China's largest chipmaker, recorded revenue of 39.2 billion yuan in 2021, up 58.6% year-on-year. China's local chip design companies, such as Huawei, HiSilicon, and UNISOC, have also made great progress.
China has also accelerated the pace of training chip talents. The Ministry of Education attaches great importance to the cultivation of integrated circuit professionals and supports colleges and universities to increase the construction of chip majors. At present, the main bottleneck facing the development of China's chip industry is the relatively backward level of manufacturing technology. However, with China's breakthroughs in 28nm and above processes, as well as the continuous research of leading processes such as 7nm and 5nm, this bottleneck is gradually being broken.
The failure of the "Chip Quadripartite Alliance".
The US-led "Quadripartite Alliance of Chips" is destined to be ineffective and will eventually fail. This unilateralism and hegemonism not only goes against the trend of economic globalization, but also cannot stop the development of China's chip industry.
