The reason is that Didi Rideshare makes it easier for passengers to hail a taxi during rush hour. "For example, during the rush hour in Beijing, the success rate of passengers who use carpooling is about 20% higher than that of those who do not." Moreover, at present, the national average rate of Didi carpooling has exceeded 70%, and in some cities where carpooling culture is popular, the average rate of carpooling can reach more than 80% during peak periods.
Of course, in order to compete, online car-hailing platforms will also give benefits to passengers, so from 2023 onwards, fixed-price orders, special orders, and carpooling orders have become the main products promoted by various platforms, because these products are cheap enough to attract passengers with taxi needs.
However, in reality, the vast majority of ride-hailing drivers hate carpooling. Some drivers even said that they would not take the carpool order even if they did not have a single order. The specific reason is that Didi also likes to give everyone carpooling rolls in the carpooling business. The farther the carpooling order, the greater the profit of Didi, so it is not afraid of sending the volume, and the cost of the volume is the loss generated by the driver after receiving the carpooling order!

Usually similar to this kind of carpooling orders, they are in the morning and evening taxi queue peak period, and many passengers will choose carpooling orders in order to save queuing time. At the same time, the Didi platform will also guide passengers to choose carpooling in the background. In fact, there is almost no difference between the price of carpooling for short-distance orders and non-carpooling.
However, for passengers who need a car urgently, since it is easier to get a car with a carpool, it is better to choose a carpool without hesitation! As a result, orders can be quickly placed to drivers who have already received a carpooling order.
At this time, when receiving a new carpooling order, the online driver can only change the original route and take a detour of two or three kilometers to pick up passengers. In this case, if you are in a third- or fourth-tier city, you can reach it within 10 minutes after two or three kilometers. However, it is impossible to say how long it will take to change to a first- or second-tier city.

Friends who have been to Wuhan should know that these two places are the most congested locations in Wuhan with many cars. According to the normal peak period of online car-hailing, the cost and profit of a single delivery is 20 yuan at most, and at least 13 yuan, and the longest time will not exceed 40 minutes. However, the cost of time and the number of kilometers to pick up and drop off three passengers at the same time will definitely increase, and this one-to-one delivery will at least double the distance. Although it is said that there is billing for this extra kilometer, according to the pricing rules of the platform, at most it is only a few dollars more than not fighting the order, even if it is capped, it will not exceed 30 yuan, in fact, there must not be so much.
However, Master Cheng, an online car-hailing driver, recently received such an order for three people. From receiving the order to finally sending off the last passenger, I walked for nearly 70 minutes after trekking through mountains and rivers. As a result, the Didi platform only paid the driver 22 yuan, excluding the fuel cost of 9 yuan, the vehicle loss of 2 yuan, and the hourly wage in hand was less than 10 yuan.
If you don't carpool and take orders normally, in a very congested situation, 20 kilometers in 70 minutes, the minimum income can be at least 26 yuan. Therefore, the carpool order must do more harm than good for Didi drivers, because they spend more time on picking up and dropping off passengers, but they don't actually get much more fare.
Therefore, veteran online car-hailing drivers usually suspend carpooling as soon as the carpooling order comes in, otherwise complaints are indispensable, and the key is not to make much money. However, it is impossible to close carpooling orders on the Didi platform, even if all three bundled modes are canceled.
To this end, Master Cheng, an online car-hailing driver, also made a special call to consult the official customer service staff of Didi online booking, and the reply he got was that the Didi platform currently does not support the rejection of carpooling orders, which means that the Didi platform will force the dispatch of orders. In other words, the so-called freedom of receiving orders on the Didi platform is all false propaganda and fake.
Therefore, since the Dadi freight rate has been knocked down in 2023, it may have been 1.8 yuan/km in the peak period, but now it is only 1.1 yuan/km in the peak period, and the 0.7 yuan in the middle is less. In fact, the platform may not really give discounts to passengers, but the real income of drivers has decreased.
Next, the life of online car-hailing drivers will be even more difficult, and judging by the current form, as the online car-hailing platform war continues, the Didi platform will further reduce prices.
