At the Dujiakan toll station of the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, behind the reporter were the traffic in and out of Beijing. Starting from 6 o'clock this morning, the 2,000-square-meter toll main station and 27 lanes in and out of Beijing have all been opened, and the traffic flow in the direction of Beijing has grown rapidly. Approaching 8:30 a.m., the hourly traffic volume of the lane out of Beijing increased by nearly 1,000 vehicles. According to the staff, the current travel peak is expected to flatten at about 11 a.m., and the situation of vehicle concentration and queuing will be alleviated.
During holidays, in the face of large passenger flows, toll stations have also taken measures to ensure the rapid passage of vehicles. According to the forecast, during the "May Day" holiday, the traffic flow of the Dujiakan toll station will remain high. The flow of traffic in the direction of Beijing on the first day and into Beijing on the last day is particularly prominent, and it is expected to increase by nearly 10% compared with the pre-holiday period.
With more than 1,000 cultural events in Beijing, the five-day holiday season and more than 1,000 cultural events in Beijing predict that the traffic volume in Beijing during the holiday may exceed the level of the same period in 2019, and the highway traffic volume may hit a record high. The average daily traffic volume is expected to be 3.1 million vehicles, an increase of 29% from the pre-holiday period. The average daily traffic of highways in the country is about 63.5 million vehicles, which is about 1.8 times the normal traffic.
