SH) issued an announcement that, according to the relevant documents of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, Zhang Deqin was recommended as a director and chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., and Ding Xiongjun was no longer the chairman and director of the company.
In the evening of the same day, the Guizhou Provincial People's Government issued a notice of appointment and dismissal, announcing that Ding Xiongjun was appointed director of the Guizhou Provincial Administration for Market Regulation (Guizhou Provincial Intellectual Property Office).
This is Moutai's second change of coach in less than 3 years.
On August 30, 2021, Kweichow Moutai announced that according to the relevant documents of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, Ding Xiongjun was recommended as a director and chairman of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., and it was recommended that Gao Weidong no longer serve as the chairman and director of the company. Prior to taking the helm of Moutai Group, Ding Xiongjun served as Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guizhou Provincial Energy Bureau.
According to the surging news reporter, in recent years, Moutai Group has changed its leadership quite frequently. Before Ding Xiongjun took office, Li Baofang stepped down in March 2020, Gao Weidong served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Moutai Group, and was reappointed as Director of the Provincial Coalfield Geology Bureau in August 2021.

Zhang Deqin joined Kweichow Moutai in July 1995, during which he successively served as the deputy director of the fifth liquor making workshop, the director of the second liquor making workshop, the assistant to the general manager, and the director of the wine warehouse workshop (concurrently). Since May 2010, Zhang Deqin has served as deputy secretary of the Party Committee, chairman and general manager of Xijiu Co., Ltd. since May 2010. According to the official website, Guizhou Xijiu Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of Guizhou Xijiu, was formerly known as the liquor workshop surnamed Yin during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, which was established as a state-owned enterprise through acquisition in 1952, joined Moutai Group in 1998, and developed and grew with the support and help of Moutai Group, and in 2022, it was changed by "Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd." to establish "Guizhou Xijiu Co., Ltd." as a whole. It has an annual production capacity of more than 70,000 tons of high-quality base wine, an annual packaging capacity of more than 60,000 tons and a storage capacity of more than 350,000 tons of base wine.
Kweichow Moutai once introduced in its 2022 annual report that in 2022, China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd., the controlling shareholder of Kweichow Moutai, transferred 82% of the equity of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd. to the Guizhou Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission for free, and the shareholding ratio of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd. was 18% after the equity transfer In 2022, the name of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd. will be changed to Guizhou Xijiu Co., Ltd.

In May 2010, after Zhang Deqin took office, she began to comprehensively promote the sauce flavor liquor to the whole country, and the sales of Xijiu exceeded 1 billion yuan that year, embarking on the road of sustained, healthy and rapid development. In the first year of Ding Xiongjun's tenure, Kweichow Moutai entered the scale of 100 billion yuan in revenue, and since then, its annual performance has reached a new high and achieved double-digit growth.
According to Kweichow Moutai (600519. SH) latest financial data shows that in the first quarter of 2024, the revenue will be 45.776 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.11%, and the net profit attributable to the parent company will be 24.065 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.73%. In 2023, revenue and net profit will both increase by 19%, reaching a new high: revenue will be 147.694 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.01%, and net profit will be 74.734 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.16%. Kweichow Moutai also proposed that it plans to achieve a total operating income increase of about 15% in 2024 compared with the previous year.
It is worth mentioning that during his tenure in Moutai, Ding Xiongjun also proposed to promote the reform of modern management, asset management, marketing system and price system.
"Moutai's new marketing era has arrived. Ding Xiongjun said at the 2022 market work meeting that since the establishment of Moutai's marketing system in 1998, it has gone through 24 years of reform and development. Today's consumer market and industry environment are undergoing profound adjustments, and the Moutai market environment is facing new trends, new groups, new scenarios, new retail, and new products.
The market can also clearly perceive that under the leadership of Ding Xiongjun, Moutai has continued to make efforts in marketing in recent years, and various cross-border co-branding has flourished.

At the 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held in June last year, Ding Xiongjun said that in the past two years, incremental price reform has been carried out, and in addition to Feitian's 1499 yuan, the surrounding prices are all moving and rising, and the price increase has been realized in essence. It is worth noting that on the evening of October 31, 2023, Kweichow Moutai (Feitian, Five-Star) announced another price increase since the end of 2017, after nearly 6 years, and raised the company's ex-factory price of 53%vol Kweichow Moutai (Feitian, Five-Star) from November 1, 2023, with an average increase of about 20%, and this adjustment does not involve the market guidance price of the company's products. Based on the ex-factory price of 969 yuan/bottle, the ex-factory price after the adjustment is about 1169 yuan/bottle.
