The first litter of little mandarin ducks has found their mother! In order for them to play in the Dutch area, the "love bridge" in the West Lake has been built again

In April, the peach and willow green West Lake is full of vitality.

Many lotus leaves in the West Lake have quietly sprouted, dotted, round small leaves, swinging on the surface of the lake, and from time to time there are wild ducks running between the leaves.

Two days ago, this year's first litter of mandarin duck babies in the West Lake "Longlong" also appeared, a total of 11, but "too heavy to play", when playing in the lakeside waters, and the "bird mother" separated.

Yesterday (April 29) afternoon, the orange friend "Antique Moon Shadow" posted a group photo of the Mandarin Duck baby "Longlong" family in the orange friend circle, and found that the little ones had successfully reunited with their mothers, following behind the mandarin duck mothers, comfortably swinging the West Lake.

Next, there will be more and more mandarin duck babies in the West Lake. At this time of year, the staff of the West Lake Water Management Office will build a mandarin duck bridge in the Dutch area.

This morning, in the Dutch area next to the broken bridge, the staff has begun the annual construction of the Mandarin Duck Bridge.

The lotus flowers in West Lake have always been loved by citizens and tourists, and the lotus area is also an "amusement park" for the baby mandarin duck, an important place for the baby to play from birth to adulthood.

However, in order to protect the lotus shoots from being eaten by herbivorous fish, there are nets in the lotus area of West Lake, and the newborn baby waterfowl are sometimes blocked because they are slightly above the water. The mother bird and the babies have a "little trouble" - whenever the mother bird takes the baby birds in and out of the lotus area to play and forage, there are always a few "little bits" who can't cross the net and break away from the large army.

Since March, the maintenance staff of the lotus area of the West Lake Scenic Area have prepared for the Mandarin Duck Bridge, carefully designed and carefully selected materials, and specially added non-woven fabrics to the bamboo racket, which is more convenient for the little Mandarin Duck to focus on.

This year, in order to allow the baby mandarin ducks to swim in the West Lake more freely, the number of Mandarin Duck Bridges in the West Lake has been increased, and a total of 10 have been built, which are in Beili Lake, Xili Lake and Outer Lake. I believe that it will not be long before everyone can see the baby mandarin duck playing on the front leaf of the lotus flower in West Lake.

Finally, I would like to remind you once again that the mandarin duck is a national second-class protected animal, and everyone should pay attention to civilized bird watching, do not feed, and do not disturb their lives, so that the mandarin duck babies can grow up happily in the West Lake.
