However, we also know that Lai Qingde's sincerity in requesting dialogue with the mainland is not significant, as can be seen from Lai Qingde's foreign speeches and the list of personnel to be employed.
Lai Qingde has repeatedly declared that he should safeguard Taiwan's so-called "sovereignty" and "democracy and freedom," which is contrary to the mainland's philosophy.

This is the core of cross-strait dialogue, and Lai Qingde cannot just talk about dialogue without actually taking any action.
The people on the island have been waiting for it for a long time
The people on the island can also see this point, so when Lai Qingde shouted for dialogue with the mainland, some people on the island warned him, hoping that Lai would not just talk about it and would take action.
From the speeches made by the people on the island, we can also see that the people on the island have been looking forward to cross-strait exchanges for a long time.
As a matter of fact, no matter whether or not the DPP talks to the mainland, the cross-strait dialogue has not ended.

This also understands why the Fujian Coast Guard has strengthened regular law enforcement inspections in Kinmen, escorted the safety of navigation in the waters near Kinmen, cleared the obstacles for the subsequent realization of direct cross-strait navigation, and made preliminary preparations.
In other words, the mainland has already done this, and if the DPP does not take a step forward, it is not appropriate, and the mainland will take it back after a long time.
The mainland has a way to deal with "Taiwan independence."
In short, the mainland's meaning is very clear: cross-strait exchanges cannot be stopped, but it does not matter whether the parties involved in the exchanges are the DPP, and the show of goodwill to the island is for the sake of future reunification.
In addition to the mainland coast guard grasping the initiative in the waters of Kinmen, the PLA Air Force and Navy have continuously stepped up their activities on Taiwan Island, ignoring the so-called "middle line of the strait."
Taiwan's retired general Zhang Yanting has warned that once the PLA crosses the so-called "middle line," it will be able to reach Lai Qingde's office in just five minutes and carry out a "beheading" operation against Taiwan within 300 seconds.
In short, the mainland is prepared, and as far as Lai Qingde is concerned, as long as he does not engage in "Taiwan independence," he will be safe, but on the contrary, Lai Qingde can only fall into fear.
