Recently, China's newly appointed defense minister, Dong Jun, was invited to attend a meeting of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Kazakhstan. During the talks between the two men, both sides spoke highly of Sino-Russian cooperation in the military field. At the same time, Shoigu also hopes that in the face of intensifying geopolitical struggles, the Chinese and Russian militaries will carry out "the closest and most productive" cooperation.
